Default S2000 vs CTS-V

Today i was on my way to the bank when i spot a silver CTS-V with the Carmax tags and stickers on it driving behind me. I get to a stoplight and take a right onto a 4 lane highway(2 on each side) that was completely empty as far as i could see. I take the turn in 2nd gear at about 13mph because i'm not thinking anything of the Cadillac because i didnt know it was a V series at the time and i just figured it was an old man driving...boy was i wrong. As soon as i make the turn into the left lane, the CTS-V makes the turn into the right lane and floors it past me. I pull up next to him going about 60 in 5th gear and i start rev-matching my car down to 4th, then 3rd, and then to 2nd where i start to cruise at 45mph at 6200rpms he slows down with me and i just punch it and he gives chase.

i shift into 3rd and he's still behind me but i cant see him in my rearview and then once i get into 4th i see him about 7 cars back. im like He pulls up beside me and it's a look-a-like 50 cent. He said "yo i messed up" and i said is it a manual? he replied "yea i got the first shift but i missed my second one" i just laughed and said "does the V have 400hp?" and he said "yep" There was a guy in a dress shirt and tie in the passenger seat, i assume a Carmax employee that rode with him that looked over and gave me a thumbs up and said "that thing's quick"

OBVIOUSLY this guy couldnt drive...but nonetheless, even when he was in gear he didnt pull me...i pulled him. I know it helped me to get the jump but i saw his car jump a split second after i hit it so my head start didnt help TOO much...but it was still a head start. R&T say it's a 13.4 @ 109 car so i know i got lucky. my car wouldn't trap that high so im glad i ran into 50 cent opposed to someone who knew what they were doing. I wish we couldve gotten another clean run in but we hit traffic so i just went to the bank and took my "victory."

The CTS-V is a lot faster than an S2000 (and plenty of other cars).

...apparently it's driver was not

Good kill and nice showing him up. His fault for starting crap he couldn't finish. Weak.

I don't think it is BS. He could have started in 1st, shifted to 2nd (his first shift) and then missed 3rd (his second shift that he mentioned).

3rd gear for us LSX guys is a BITCH to hit. If he threw it into 1st or 5th he would have lost bad, especially in 1st where he wet his pants as his TC light came on and the engine raced and his rear tires locked up and he skidded a bit.

The reason I don't call BS is because I have a 5.0 that is almost identical on the top end to an S2000. My dad and I were playing around with the 2 cars (5.0 and my WS6) and my dad got the jump on me and it took forever to reel him in. Had it been = and I missed a gear he would have left me in the 5.0. So far the WS6 has humbled ///M roadsters (Z4), been dead even with a 'vette, and I promise is faster than my 5.0 or a stock S.

no BS call here...like people have already mentioned, anything can happen on the streets. and sometimes all it takes is one bad shift.

as perfect as we'd all like to think we are behind the wheel, we all miss shifts every now and again. in fact i once lost to an LS6 CTS-V from a 30mph roll b/c i missed 3rd gear. fortunately for me, the driver was a gentleman and gave me a 2nd chance from the red light we rolled up to. needless to say, i didn't miss any shifts that time

anyways, i love it when the underdog wins b/c its usually the result of an opponent who is either overly confident in his/her car's performance, or just can't drive well.
