Hey guy's, I bumped into an s2000 the other night while I was coming home from work in my G35...well long story short, we raced and he was left far behind...He missed 2nd and 3rd gears and couldn't drive for shyt...however through 1st we were pretty even with him inching ever so slightly (untill he missed 2nd gear)...Anyways...It's just been bugging me lately to see how my G does aginst a Stock S..(my S2000 isnt stock, so it's disqualified)

Anybody in the Ft. Lauderdale area who know's how to whip there 9K screamer (or 8k for you ap2 guy's) Down for a couple of run's with my Bone Stock G35 6 speed?? Just for fun, nothing extream...Im just really courious, and I want it to be aginst someone who can actually shift properly...

Anyone down?

 

I'd run you if you were close by.....Mine just has a k&N performance filter and LW flywheel...guess its DQed anyways.

 

G35's are scary fast but hopefully someone in the Ft.lauderdale area will run anyway.

s2000 240hp / 2835 lbs = 0.0847 power/weight
2005 G35 298hp/3512 lbs = 0.0849 power/weight.
2004 G35 280hp/3440 lbs = 0.0814 power/weight

I don't know what you're laughing about. The 2 cars have the nearly identical power to weight ratio. If anything, the G35 has an awesome low end that the S2000 cannot match. Wake up and smell the VQ.

I own both cars and have driven both extensively...so I know. I can go fast in the G in any RPM in any gear, I cannot do the same with the S. Though the S is still an awesome car, the G35 is nothing to look down to.

My boy has a G35 its an automatic and it sucks ass for 280hp, yeah it sounds cool, but TO ME its a babied version of a z, im sure you cought the best motoring vid w/ the s2k handing the "skyline" its ass. im just not a nissan fan, so yes, this hating if very called for

 

i ran an 05 the other night in my bone stock s2000, i weigh about 250 and my passenger does too (i know over the wieght limit blah blah blah) i would actually pull in the lower gears, he would only catch me when i shifted into fifth due to how slow it takes to get back up into the prime rpm range, he krept back up but never got ahead =)

without a passenger he was probably done....

The auto's are indeed very underacheiving for 280hp (the other night I put like 5 cars through 3rd on some chick in an auto G).

In no way, shape, or form does the G35 handle even close to as good as the S2000 does! Of course the S will whip up on it on a road course, (the G weighs much much more, and you can feel it) The G feels like a boat compaired to my S2K in the twisties! But were talking about straight line speed here, and that's what I was wondering.

In my heart I do believe a stock S2k will beat a stock G35, but I just want to see how badly...cause the G's power is very sleeperish. It defenitly doesn't feel as quick as the S, but it seem's to do the job pretty well. There's no need for name calling, you might hurt my feelings...
