So I'm talking to a guy I work with and he mentions he has a cousin who bought a neon SRT4. We were talking about cars, and he was telling me all these cars his cousin said his neon was faster than. lol. He said it's faster than the S2000, 350Z, M3, and he said he can hang with a viper. I said sure, if his definition of "hang" is to remain in the same state when the viper takes off.

I was telling him his neon wasn't faster than ANY of those cars. I told him what he truly can exepect to do with his neon. He called his cousin and told him everything I had said and his cousin was like your normal little ricer. So I said alright, the M3 and viper are faster than my S2000, and my S2000 is the same as a 350Z. I said I'd be glad to do a little friendly race.

So later yesterday I meet up with my friend when we go out to eat, and his cousin is there with his little yellow turbo shopping cart.

While we are eating his cousin is just telling me more BS than anything I've heard. About how the neon is faster than all these cars both on the track and at the 1/4 mile. He just kept going on and on telling me about all these kill stories he has read online.

I'm talking about auto-x and about how the neon can lose to a civic in auto-x and he's like, well the neon wins against EVO's, S2k's, and corvettes all the time. lol. Then he tried to tell me that at the "world championship races" this year a neon SRT4 took 1st and 2nd. lol. wtf, he's making up races now? hahahahaha. The whole time his cousin (my friend) is like

So finally we go out and take a run on the freeway. Clear of traffic we slow down to about 40 and hit it. Through 2nd I gain about a car on him. Into 3rd, I stop pulling and it stays about even. As I'm finishing 3rd and into 4th, I'm pulling and I shut down at 110mph.

We go again with almost the exact same result, except I pull a little more (not sure if he missed a shift or what).

Afterwards he would NOT believe my car was stock. He said no way in hell was my S2k stock cuz he said he raced one before and left him in the dust. My friend/his cousin tried to tell him my car was stock except for intake, but he still thinks I'm running nitrous or something. lol

I get that same thing around here alot. New kids come into the scene and think their SRT-4 is unstopable. That is one of few cars i'm looking forward to lining up next to in the summer when my car gets back on the streets.

 

this is a good story..when i was in arizona a dude was in an srt..and he wanted to run....i was like naw, dont want to beat you..and just laughed..*not at him* just laughed...anyway....light turned green, he took off hard and left me, i just kinda rolled off the line till about vtec then tried..haha...oh..i lost..lol...but then again i didnt even try till he was a car ahead..then i let off...ill let him chance the ticket....this story has no relevance to yours, but i just wanted to share it..

 

That was a good deed to make him feel special.

 

I raced a black one from a dead stop and I only beat him by about half a car and we raced 3 times during the year I won two of the races by no more then a car but he did win one by about half of a car they are pretty evenly matched in 1/4 as far as Auto-X you will completely make his car look like Sh*t even on a turney road you will destroy him pretty badly....

 

SRT-4's are a waste of time and money. Dodge's attempt at the import scene, wen't horribly wrong if you ask me. Plus, our cars are just being broken in at 50K, as for theirs, well they are just breaking down.
Honda>Dodge, but I do give major props to the Viper, kick ass car.

someone mentioned the srt4 vs S2000 video where the guy had 4 people in his srt4 and pulled on the S2000. people think that just cuz they see a video of some car beating another that that's the rule, rather than the exception.

I saw that video and I swear every race I heard that guy shifting slower than a grandma with no arms and bouncing off the rev limiter too. anyone know what i'm talking about?

 

Havent seen the video. But your right, thats almost automatically the rule of thumb.. "well i saw a video of an SRT4 beating an S2000... so thats the way it is, S2000 cant handle the SRT4"
I'm a firm believe that the best way to decide who is the fastest is just to line up for a few runs, majority of wins is the winner.

 

When my buddy had his SRT, I just had the exhaust on my car. We were driving around, I was behind him and I mashed it in 1st gear to pass him. He mashed it a second later. I jumped in the lane next to him and started to walk on him pretty good. I shut it down before it got to dangerous. At the end of the race I was about half of my car ahead of him. So I made up my ground from behind him and beat him. So what I think is, if you take, lets say the driving god Tsuchya-san from BMI, cloned him and put him in the SRT and his clone in the S2000, I would almost gaurantee the S2000 would win. It is mostly a drivers race but I still believe the S2000 is a bit faster.
