ok,ok- I know the "LS1 Vs S2k" topic has been posted about 100 times, but I tried searching first without any luck on my exact question. My question is: could a stock 2002 S2000 beat a new (LS1) Z28 Camaro with no mods and an automatic tranny? This would be from a standstill, on dry pavement.

 

Yes. But not likely. The driver of the S would have to be damn good. And the LS1 would have to spin his tires too much off the line to really lose.

I ran a LS1 WS6 auto from a stop. We were dead even to 100mph.

My S2k is stock. And no he probably didn't launch well. But after that, my car stayed dead even with him. No one pulled either way.

Could, yes. Likely? No.

 

If somebody asked us S2k owners which car was faster between S2000 and ITR
we would definately say S2k is the FASTER CAR.

However, from what we have seen and heard on this board some poorly S2ks have been killed by well driven ITRs and even Maximas.

Well 9 outa 10 times, a stock LS1(auto or stick) will drag a S2k by 4-5 cars at least and that's a fact. But if one can't drive behind the wheels of LS1 then that's not our falut.

Bottom line is learn to DRIVEEEE.

S2k vs LT1, S2k vs. Mustang GT, S2k vs. E36 M3, S2k vs Boxter S are more even match

 

next question... would a turbo S2000 need to adjust the mirrors to see the z28 camaro behind it?
