So I went out to a rent an movie and the vid store was closed. I turned out of the parking lot and I see this beautiful Red shiney car go by that I've never seen before...is it? Nahhh, not possible. In any case, I was curious, I pull out the parking lot and am right behind a brand new RX-8! I thought I was seeing things but it WAS an RX-8! The liscene plate read RXGR8...something like that! I wanted to get beside the guy and he made a left so of course I followed him. He took a sharp left turn and booted it..hard! It obviously COULD NOT have been broken in because I realed him in pretty quick. I got beside him and he was all smiles and rolled the window down. I said..."Where the phuck did you get THAT from" He said "It wasn't out yet...but it's very similiar to your car" We were kind of holding up traffic so I couldn't converse to much. I got behind him again, and again he gunned out...of course I went after him and again passed him without too much difficulty. Again, his car was obviously NOT broken in so it's NOT a good comparison. We did it one more time and same result. We were both all smiles and perhaps he wasn't pushing it. It looks quite nice person...I was kind of shocked when I saw it so I really didn't know what to say to the guy.

Glad you had a positive experience. Mazda knocked one outta the park with that car.

I think that mazda tried very hard to copy the s2000 with the the rx-8. Which makes me mad.

 

Man, I'd like a chance to drive one. I wonder if there is a way to get a turbo in there...

I guess it's just as hard, perhaps harder than getting a roots-type SC into a LHD S2000.

 

How so? One's a 4 door, 4 seater coupe and the other is a roadster. There's a vague resemblance in the head and tail lights and that's about it. Peak horsepower and torque figures are similar, but I think that's prolly just a coincidence.....

 

Mazda did not "try very hard to copy the RX8".....that's just as retarded a statement as: "honda tried very hard to copy the RX7."

Anyways, add another car to the low 14s high 13s realm.....yet another driver's race out there for us.

 

I watched Japanese version of the Best Motoring. The S pulled hard on the RX-8.

hmmmmm.... Its starting to sound alot like......i dont know an s2000. (except for the last line.)

Not at all mentioning the somewhat obivious visual similarities.

 

Is the RX8 out yet I'd haven't seen one in person and would love to go test drive one?
I thought it sounded very similar to the S. Same charateristics.
