My friend and I were headed to the gym. Well we saw this acura integra (looked like a 93 or something) go the opposite way. so my friend was like "there you go" and I was like na, lets go to the gym, split second later I was like you know what grandma, move over, no more treating this car like a girly car. (only have 2,500 miles). so light turned and I turned around to catch hiim. it took me about 4 lights to catch up to him since he was going fast in and out of traffic.

And finally, I got behind him, he defenitely saw me, as he is now trying to lose me, but didnt. so I cut over to the left lane and now we are slowing down to about 45 in second gear, then we hit it and started to pull away on me but as VTEC kicked in I was gaining on him till I was about 1/2 car ahead and then we stopped because of traffic, I did notice some strange noise coming from the car so I was like hmmm boost?????. so we go at it again and about the same thing he pulls strong from about 45 but as I go into third I start pulling on him at a steady pace and this time im about a car ahead. We turned around to a light. So this is my first time ever racing the s2000 from a dead stop. so he and I are revving until light changes, im revving at about 6,000 RPMS and then drop it and floored it. Big mistake, my car literally sat in front of the light baking them up not being able to hook up. Shifted into 2nd gear and my tires would just not grip, so now hes about 3 or 4 cars ahead. so I finally hooked up and im slowly catching up to him however I only managed to get 2 cars closer to him because of traffic. So we turn around again to a light. And this time I was revving at 4,000 RPM's, light turns and we go at it and I got a way better launch and I jumped it about a car, he didnt spin that much either but yet I jumped by the time I was ready to shift to 3rd I was a car and a half away and sitll pulling away, so we to the light and asked him what he had and he said he has turbo pushing 10psi so I said to myself, u should have raped me. but anyways, I give him lots of credit, pretty fast integra, I was impressed at the torque it had.

So we turned this way and he turned the other and said good bye, cool guy, so im heading home and 5 minutes later I see an acura so I was like another one? to my surprise it was the same guy coming back for some more. but anyways ill leave it at that. sorry for the long story

and guess what we never made it to the Gym, we just went home.

Good kill. I actually raced a 97 civic hatch with a GSR motor with the Greddy turbo kit with a front mount that laid down 230 to the wheels at 5000ft. It was fast and light, I was slowly walking him from 50-110 and had maybe 4 cars on him. I have yet to get my pig on the dyno yet and I am only running 13psi where I need to run 17 to be over 300 to the wheels

 

Hey Celi, there is a brand new dyno right here in Ft. Collins- $50 for a couple of runs I think or $100 an hour if you want to try different pieces. I plan on going there in a couple of weeks with another guy. If you could get a couple of people I know I could talk them into just basically running it an afternoon for us at a pretty good price. Let me know.

 

Go the the Rocky Mountain section. The guy Paul will charge us $500 for 8 hours of dyno time. The more people we have the cheaper it is. I plan on going up next friday to get my VAFC tuned.

Racing from one traffic light to another.

 

It almost sounds like you didn't launch right and your clutch was slipping.. did it smell like burnt clutch afterwards??

well I know i didnt launch right.

These are the possibilities after thinking about it:

1. I was in the middle of an oil slick
2. the road was dusty

Other than that I did not smell anything but I know for a fact my tires were spinning like crazy.

 

Was it jumping up and down like?? If you dont launch the car perfectly at 6,000 then you're gonna slip the clutch -- engaged.. The reason why I asked that is because it seem sodd that you managed to shift in to second and still spin..

the car was not like jumping or hopping
so what r u saying about slipping??

if my clutch slips at any RPM's then that is not acceptable, dont u think there is a problem?

and if it was I didnt smell anything and I know the smell of clutch as I have a steep driveway unfortunately and sometimes ti smells after putting my car away
