Default S2000 vs. V-series Caddie

Scenario :

I just started my new job and went to lunch with my new boss today. On my way back to work, there is a Cadillac tailing me. I get caught up at a light in the left lane and the Cadillac pulls next to me on the right...

At this point, I'm thinking I really shouldn't do anything with my boss in the car...not sure how he will react etc.. But it's been 2 months since I got my car turbo'd and I just couldn't resist... my first potential race since May when I got my car back after it initially had problems....

So we start on a slow roll and he begins to accelarate and so do I....at about 15 mph we both punch it...he jumps about 2 cars ahead and stays that way all the way up to about 100-110 mph....maybe even crawling away on me.

At that point there was a little traffic so I slowed down and he jumped ahead of me in the left lane. He gave me the thumbs up and I gave it back. Then I said sorry to my boss and told him I was surprised I lost. He seemed alright with it but who knows what he's really thinking. All I kept thinking for the rest of the day was that I shouldn't have raced. It was dumb on my part. What would've happen if blah blah blah and what does my boss think of me now etc...

Anyway, that's my story. Hope you enjoyed it.

my car: Inline pro turbo kit - about 430-440whp

his car: V-series Cadillac - The only modification I could see on his car was an exhaust.

poop.

I got to tell you...you got balls!

New job, lunch with the boss, street encounter on the way back to work!

I just want to know one thing.

Is the new boss a car guy? I'm guessing you wouldn't have raced unless you had the impression he was.

I don't know if he was a car guy. When he first got into the car, he seemed to like the car and spoke about his previous cars which were the prelude and civic I believe. I'll get a better feel of his opinion the next time we go to lunch.

you have a new job and your raced with your new boss in the car?

What do you do for a living.

That sounds like something that will definitely hurt you in the professional world. good luck.

I definitely regret what I did now. But what's done is done. I can only hope it doesn't affect me professionally. I'll continue to work hard and let my work ethic hopefully move me forward in my career. I'm an application analyst supporting a production environment run mostly on unix servers and oracle databases.

I checked up on the Cadillac website and the new ones are running 469 hp at the crank. I'm not sure what year the one I raced was though. It had the same body as the new one I see on the website....I dunno, that car was fast and I was not holding back.

maybe he was supercharged, you're almost making to the wheels what he's making to the crank, and you weight waaaay less with a passenger or not. if he only had an exhaust you'd destroy him. your car is a 120mph+ car and if he only has an exhaust is around 112mph IIRC (nowhere near 120mph)
