s2000-Z28
I just raced a Z28 and thought it would be a close race but i guess i was wrong i took off at about 5500 rpm and i dont know what he did...well anyway thats the only lead i got after 2nd gear it just beat the hell outta my lil S2, it was the first race i've ever done in the s2000 and it lose pretty bad after that he we did a U-turn and i went ahead while he raced a Ford lighting he beat it and passed it up i saw him coming up so i floored it at 4th gear i got all the way too 110 and he just flew by me till 122 damn i was pissed at my lil honda i really need to get mods now lol but i guess i should be proud its a 4cylinder
??? So you thought you would be able to beat a Z28? LT1's would be difficult to beat. With LS1's, there's no comparison - they're beasts. And you were pissed at your "lil honda?" LOL! Be pissed at yourself....
The s2k is not a drag car...and no matter what you do to it, it never will be really optimized for that kind of driving. Sure it's fast, and once on a roll it's quick, but running it in a straight line is wasting it's real ability. Especially stock, you're not going to be able to compete with cars with nearly twice the torque available early in the rpm range, and live axles are actually better for drag events to boot. You racing a z28 or anything with that kind of power as silly as a civic racing you - and being upset about loosing. Supercharging the s2k will certainly make you faster, but it will still have the same feel, i.e. power building continuously, and not have that low end grunt that a real drag car needs. But you may be able to roast a z28 or two.
If you want to be able to compete in a straight line, I suggest you look at oher cars...and the z28 is a good place to start...because you'll never be happy with the s2k. If you want to occasionally have fun with a drag race, but really have your fun carving it up in the twisties (not to mention looking good doing it
), than the s2k is a great car.
Just my opinion of course...others have lots of fun and success dragging their s2k's.

i'm not mad at my car really i still love it lol, i just thought i wouldnt loose by that much ... i cant afford a s/c right now i wanna keep it n/a for a while it only has 1000 miles in it but would an intake and exhaust mess up the warranty
ejis- i didnt get my s2000 just to drag race i got it for many other reasons we just raced for fun and i didnt intead to win or ever had the idea in my head i thought i would keep up like by one car length or two not by that many if i wanted a drag car i would have bought a cobra not an s2000 but the s2000 has many better things a cobra doesnt
your right about looking good tho lol
your right about looking good tho lol
Intake and exhaust shouldn't affect the warranty... As a matter of fact, the dealer I bought my car at has a built in rice shop, and they sell/install everything from fake "type R" badges to s/c's. They would cover the car...and the s/c...under warranty. The guys there told me they even delivered one as new with a Comptech s/c. You might pay a little more for this, but that's - quite literally - the price of service. So you might want to check with a local dealer, they might surprise you.
FWIW though, you're not going to gain a whole lot with just an intake and exhaust (a few hp and maybe quicker revving, but you might even loose power in places depending on the design)...it will look and sound better though, if that's your taste. IMHO, you're better off saving your money, and if what you really want is power, buying the s/c or a turbo when you can afford it. I'd just love to pull up on a non-s/c'ed s2k with all the aesthetic "improvements" in my (maybe someday) s/c'ed but completely stock looking car and waving goodbye

haha fake type R badge... but yea that would be fun too i did that in my old car when i raced a z3 he just laughed when he lost and heard my turbo... i'm going for the turbo then but i'd like the intake too so i'll buy that since its cheap

- get even! Get a S/C installed ASAP, lol !!! I feel your pain, next time make sure it's a single exhaust.
