i live in chicago and i just bought my s2k (stock 03) from green bay Wisconsin on Sunday. i was just driving in the middle lane on the way back and i spotted a 370z in the right lane. in my mind i knew he would kill me but i had a long ride back so i figured i should see if hes willing to play. i pulled up next to him and he smiled. it was a stock 370z. its a great looking car to say the least. right away he started slowing down so i did the same. i told him we will go from 45. three honks and to my surprise i started pulling on him right away. by the top of fourth i had about 3-4 cars. he was shocked so he kept asking for more. lol....same thing each time. his jaw dropped when i told him it was stock. he gave me a thumbs up and we just cruised together for about 15 miles.

These two cars are pretty even if you ask me both have their strong points. The s is better imo lighter more nimble. You may have had closer race starting from zero no roll and driver may have started in bad gear from the roll. Anyway, not all z's will be that easy.

I'm from Chicago too! I had an 05 G35(same platform as the z) coupe before the s2k. The G was fun when it was stock. Had great power through out the gears but lacked top end power. So I threw on a vortech supercharger and that fixed everything lol. The s2k isn't that powerful but like Bliss said it's a lot more nimble and with a few small mods you can get it going fast pretty good. I don't plan on modding the s2k like I did with the G, mainly because I'm happy with the power and dropping the top on a warm summer night is awesome!

Do you have an AP1 or 2? What color is it? Look for me on the street!

I thought the 06+ HR engine on 350z would destroy our s2k??! Let alone a 370z. My buddy has a 370z never raced him but now I kinda want to lol. He has a cat back and exhaust tho which were the same. I should try my sis auto 08 g35 vs my s2k lol. Good kill

Actually your right, I was thinking the OP was talking about the 350z. The 370z is def a lot more powerful. Maybe the guy op raced couldn't really drive lol.

It was 6 speed. Trust me I was shocked. I started pulling on him as soon as we both hit it. However, I have been told I am a damn good driver.

Yeah a 370 will kill an s2000 stock vs stock. Even a HR 350 will pull on a s2000. He must have sucked at driving

He probably could have dropped another gear.

Something isn't adding up....regardless of where you roll a 370 in your powerband, it will still catch up and pass us.
