I give the whole thing just for the entertainment value You make some good arguments, and his spelling is indeed poor.

I'll try to find out if this is the same DeLorean that I know of; might be up in that area this weekend and will look for him. In the meantime, keep up the good work. Its like watching Springer

(that was not a pic of his engine, by the way, just one I found on Google)

You choose:

1. Feeling stupid having paid a lawyer $40K to avoid serving
time for a crime initiated by stealing $5K worth of merchandise from Saks.
2. Feeling stupid having read that entire thread.

This one's going down to the wire folks.

i think it's pretty much over and done. all they can come back with is "DMC is a respected member of this board....we believe anything he says" or "sorry we didn't put in all the details, but here it is....(of course, it usually contradicts what they said earlier)". whether the story is true or not, DMC did not represent himself very well, which of course, makes ppl doubt him even more. overall, as LBRunner said, it's JERRY JERRY JERRY material! i'm done with them.....i think!

JERRY JERRY JERRY The guy is actually pretty cool, and his story seems true enough. There is no way to tell where the guy he ran against lives because he hasn't seen him since, and I have not seen any new s2ki members with brand new yellow S2000s. Mr. DMC claims that he has no engine mods, and the weight reduction consists of removal of spare tire, tool kit and washer fluid. However, he is not 100% certain about the engine because he bought the car salvaged and anything "internal" could have been done since the history is a mystery (hey I'm a poet!). Even if it was ported/polished and had more agressive cams, I doubt it would increase performance all that much.

It doesn't have to be over if you don't want it to be. Take a look at the last message he posted. He said he is willing to meet up with all the local S2000 owners.

Just wait until you'll be in the area. He said he is there mostly every weekend (a little less so in the winter due to the cold). Isn't your car modified, though? Or were you debating on the supercharger?

I'm debating on the supercharger. He's in canada, so it'd be quite a drive for me.

Yes, I often think about forced induction systems... but then I get the strange feeling that I'll blow my engine in the long run. Maybe I'm just anal and paranoid

apparently he feels he put us S owners in our place.....ughh! he says he is not modded, then we hear he is, now he isn't again? someone even said he reduced weight to close to the 2000 lbs mark. there's a lot of dung whipping around that forum. the thing that baffles me is that there are a lot of members stating he is a well respected member of that board. to me, he SOUNDS like a kid (maybe he is older, but i'm basing this solely on his posts) and his inconsistencies are rather plentiful. what does it take to be "a well respected member" there???? since that was the first and only post i've read on that board, i have no respect for it at this time....

I have trolled there for several months now, and it's one of the most uneducated boards I've ever seen. Not that there aren't knowledageable members there, but the majority seem to be morons. And 90% of the time you get a "busy server" error and you can't even get on the forums anyways.
