Aight, just got in from a night stalk(hence the name). Basically, me and a friend go out every couple nights and drive around looking for good races. This was first of many to come. To night was rather dry, finding only v6 tiburon which now has a detailed description of my rearend(not even worth the gas but growing desperate for some speed). Giving up for the night and heading home, i see some HIDs and intercooler in on coming "light" traffic. Of course i bust a u turn and head after him.

I pull up next to him and shift to 2nd at 40 and give a few short punches of gas. i was waiting for him to go b/c i thought he would need the advantage, especially from roll. He takes off and quickly i tell he isnt stock ! i punch it and stop his pull and start to gain slowly (enough to smile about). Gaining on him we reach next light. we rolled off the line and i didnt think he was goin for it again but sure enough, he punches it...and i downshift to second and take Ava (my car) to about 105. I didnt pass him but was still gaining.

We pull up and the first words out his mouth are "Damn thats fast, supercharged?".
Nah, turbo...
He had :new intercooler, boost controller, tuned, 3inch turbo back and few other things. Boosting 20psi.
Overall, it was very close and i had a slight advantage, give the evo some props.

i loved his car but man do i my boost.

Very nice.... What I find funny is stock S2K's saying they can hang with modded or slightly modded Evo's. If your car is boosted and you werent flying by him, im wondering how the Stock ones do it

LOL, Im not trying to start a flame war hear, but I have read lots of stories about stock S2K's beating Evo's all day long, si its nice to see that a boosted one was having a good race. Maybe people will think twice before posting stock vs modded with the end result being a win.

 

Its rubbish.

I had a hell of a time fending off an evo in my supercharged S2000. The damn evo only had a turbo back exhaust, and a boost controller. Granted, my blower car wasnt nearly as powerful as some of the current setups, but it was an eye-opening experience.

 

I disagree. I have a slightly modded s2k and when my brother had a stock evo from a roll i could put a car or two on him after 120mph when the evo is in 5th gear and losing boost. We did this at least 40-50 times on different days with various weather conditions. I have posted vids on this forum before of some of our runs. slightly modded s2k > stock evo from a roll to 120 mph.

With a turbo back exhaust it wasnt a race anymore as I could never keep up with him (2+3 cars to 120 mph) and as soon as he reflashed his ecu + boost controller at 18psi he pulls bus lengths on me.

 

i believe that the stock s2k can take a stock evo from a roll. However from a stop its no contest, AWD is a Biacth. But this evo was nicely moddified. I believe he didnt come clean with his list of mods.

The reliability on the turbo kit is great so far. No problems and loving every second of it. Ive heard of noone else having problems with it and i dont plan to be the first .

 

You were the one that doubted my race with an evo, all i have to say is I have beat 2 stock ones with just intake and exhaust (one of the races I believe I was stock but cant remember back that far). The other night I also hung with a latest body style SS camaro thru fourth gear where he started to pull away about 1 car (all i had was intake). It all comes down to drivers and not all evo drivers are your husband, and not all s2000 drivers are you, so give some fellow members respect before you pull the BS flag on their kill. So maybe you will think twice before posting.

Haha...First off this is the hubby Second I wasnt doubting his race notice I said "very nice" I respect everyone I meet/race/whatever if you knew me you'd know that. It doesnt matter if I win or lose I always show respect.

Thing is you have to remember we have both cars and we have raced at different stages of modding. When the Evo was bone stock, I pulled on our S even after she had the initial jump, and this is from a roll. I started pulling at about 120 mph, who knows maybe I have one of the stronger Evo's.

As for you hanging with the SS, thats nice, your car must be pretty strong. I raced one the other day although he was modded and my clutch is slipping he could pull pretty easy from a high speed. From a slow roll we would stay even for the first few gears then he would pull, but I could smell my clutch burning after the runs

Anyways like I said I wasnt for a second doubting his race, but when someone says they beat a modded Evo in a stock S "hell yeah" Im gonna raise the BS flag, cuz I know what the car can do with just some basic mods.
