S2K vs. Evo8
I have a bone stock 04 S2K.
So I saw a black EVO8 on my way into work. Looks sick with nice exhaust, sounded good so I gave him a thumbs up. Then we did a little 30-70 roll once traffic cleared up and he pulled a lil on me.
I talked to him and he said he just has a turbo back which I believe because he did not pull hard on me.
A few more lights down we both hit a redlight and in front of us is absolutely no cars and 1.5 miles of straight road. So the light turns green and we both roll on the throttle at about 15mph and he jumps about half a car and were off. At about 60ish I pull up next to him then 4th gear I start a walkin. We shut down at about 120mph for me and I was about 2 cars ahead of him.
We talked at the next light, really nice guy, I gave him props on his sick car. He said he hates how his car doesn't have much top end and he needs a reflash.
Cliffnotes: Raced evo8 from 15-120. I pulled 2 cars. Nice guy, nice car.

How can you tell which generation Evo is which? I would really like to know because I can't tell one from another.

The 8's have a different front bumper than the 9's and different wheels. Not any other exterior changes IIFC.
I have a flash and a turboback on my 05 8 and I routinely rape stock S's, any speed you like, which is as you would expect with ~100 whp more.
If anyone is interested I ran a 12.91 @106 with a poor 1.9 60'. Should be doing ~12.6's
The 8's have a different front bumper than the 9's and different wheels. Not any other exterior changes IIFC.
