today while driving home from work a trip that should take on 10 mins turned into 45 when i got into it with a g35. it was a very interesting race.

we are both at a light and i am staring over at this guys car sizing up the competition. i get caught staring. so i hear nissian v6 growl.(which sounds like crap if you ask me)

now i am scared cause my mental computer cant remember for some reason exactly how fast these things are. and only having my s2k for two weeks i am still trying to find the sweet spot when launching.(every race i have had so far has been roll on.) so i pick 6k off the top of my head. green!

through 1st i am getting killed. second gear. starting to reel him in. third still pulling but i am staying right at his rear fender. 4 gear. i almost pull even with him. we both back off and slam on the binders.

my car is bone stock, he had an intake i could hear it moan. has anyone else raced a z or g35. is this a pretty much typical out come?

 

sounds about right to me, if you got killed through 1st by that car then it sounds like you got a bad launch. there have been a few good G35c vs s2k vids posted here, if search ever comes back, search for them.

 

I was on the highway the other night next to a G35 coupe, tried several times to get him to race from a roll at about 65. He never took. I'm wondering if it would have been a good race? Anybody race from a roll with a G35 coupe?

 

im still curious how in the hell every S2K person think that they will completely kill a Z or a g35 in the first 3 gears... sounds like complete ignorance at what the car can perform at....

 

The s2k is geared better down low then both the Z and the g35, thats why. There are a few videos floating around, almost all of them have the s2k taking a slight lead early with the Z pulling in the later gears. The Z has a stonger engine overall. I'm sure the g35 would have a similar outcome if it wasn't a freaking tank.

 

i never said i thought i would kill it. it has 40 more horses to begin with. just thought i would have a chance considering they weigh like 3600 pounds? you like your s2k dont you?!

 

the vids that I have seen posted here have the S2k taking the jump on the 350Z off the launch and then the 350 catching up or just passing the s2k around the 1/4 mile mark. s2k should do at least a little better against the G35C I would think

at any rate, you should search for the videos before you assume we're all a bunch of fanboys (mistar Z33)

 

g35 might have been stock too. those things just sound sick. either way don't sweat it
