Default S2k vs M5

This was few nites go... Me and my S2k Crew in Dubai were just cruising .. and i saw M5 mayb a 2003 model.. it looked stock.. he kept tailgating my friend.. my car is stock.. my friends s2k is modified.. and sounds mean.. so M5 was not really intrested in me.. well m5 kept on tailgating.. he finally gave up and decideds to come behind me ... well i floored it.. i was at around 120 kms... well to my surprise he cudnt gain on me.. but i gained a bit on him .. we went all the way till 220 kms, then i just stopped.
well i was surprised because i raced m5 before from a dig and it wasnt a preety site.. but from a roll.. i raced 2 of them.. and hmm its been the same result..
is it possible? given a good driver stock to stock?
i mean it happend wid me twice.

I would have to say it's not possible. Sorry to break it to you like that, but an M5 is an M5 and an S2k is an S2k... Just can't happen stock for stock.

yes its entirely possible. there are tons of these tugs here, its vegas cmon. LOL. i have raced 5 diff ones now. and same result, i walk away smoothly. remember, this car weighs 4000 lbs. without any passengers. several have posted quick 1/4 times, but majority of folk who have this car didnt buy it to race it. so take that where youd like. nice kills. lates dave

Really, Those things run low 13's! I agree anything is possible, but I just find it hard to believe w/ equal drivers the M5 wouldn't walk away.

Sorry but I doubt it.

M5 3900 lbs has an Avg of 345 Whp stock which equals to 11.3 lbs per HP.
S2K 2800 lbs ~ and Avg Whp 205 = 13.6 lbs per HP.

No way it can happen on a straigfht line accelaration.

Torque comparison forget it. Torque = accelaration.
Twisties or road course. Forget it. S2k will eat the M5 alive.

I doubt it... there are no automatic m5's either... so I guess that leaves you with racing crappy drivers that possibly didnt downshift all the way

If anything, from a roll the difference would be even worse. The thing is just a tq. monster. Either he was in the wrong gear, or he wasn't trying all the way.

lol. ok. just so you have an idea where my thinking is. you dont calculate power to weight by wheel HP. dude. sorry. too much difference in drivetrain, and losses, and some cars just have magic (z06) so. calc by flywheel. my car, 275 flywheel, with me in it, 2950 lbs. this comes to 10.72 lbs per HP. average m5 with driver, 4100 lbs, with 400 hp, comes to 10.25 lbs per hp. ok, now add a passenger to the M5, which is what ive seen every time, 4300 lbs, 400 hp, comes to 10.75 lbs per HP. so if you dont factor in jumps, bad driving skills, or anything else. if you just wanna use *science* its more than entirely possible that s2k can stay with, or walk an m5. how about some more comparative thinking, (what makes the world smarter) an e46 M3 destroys the m5. and i run dead even with e46 m3s. so,,,, hmmmm. think a bit. lates.

Back when the M5 came out a bunch of the viper guys were doing highway roll-ons with one. The M5 would slightly pull the viper above 100. There have also been some folks who have ripped off high 12's in them.

There is no amount of rice boy math S2oooNvegas that will ever make your S2000 anywhere near as fast from a roll-on (or in the 1/4) as an M5 -- ever.

you dont calculate power to weight by wheel HP. dude. sorry.
That is the dumbest thing I have read on this forum in months. Congradulations.
