Default s2k vs. modded S-ER spev v

Ok I know spec V's are not that strong. My girl friend has an S-ER non spec v auto so I know what they are all about. I thought i'd see what a six speed spev-v can do.

Anyway. Cruising at lunch time. See a silver Modded spev-v(exhaust,
body kit, graphics, Nismo sticker, tinted windows) We get stopped at a light I am behind him, he is first at the light I am directly behind him with a Blazer to his left. He's ready, some rev's light goes green he takes off I follow. I take off no launch. Had to lay off first gear up high or I'd smash the back of him. Left lane opens up
shift to second pass him in the left lane at a fast rate before second gear redlines . Shift to third and shut down soon after. He had a passenger I was alone with top down. Cool run he beeped and I gave a wave and he returned. Nothing to exciting but its been a long winter.

My performance mods...straight pipe, 4.77, invidia exhaust, 5000 vtec cross over, aem cai.

With your 4.77 gears, what is your rpms like at freeway speeds? Is it loud and overbearing when you drive long distances? What rpm are you at when you're going like 75mph?

Hey! Wisconsin, Glad to see your back on the boards. The 4.77 on the highway are not that bad. To tell ya the truth I really don't know what rpm I am at I think its around 4500. Its not bad ya get use to it really quick. It does not help I have a loud exhaust and a straight pipe. But I have never been happier with the car. The 4.77 make a world of difference. Just really have to be on your game when going all out it makes it to the redline real quick. In the fun department I can kick out the rear or spin the tires at will, with ease, inbetween 1st to 2nd shifts don't even to have it floored just a quick shift. Can also slide them when shifting to third if your quick. The first couple of weeks when your cruising in sixth gear ya go to shift and realize your already in sixth.

The best mod! It takes all the low rpm , low torque problems and throws them out the window!

No just some gtech stuff. Its plenty fast and when I am spraying its hard to keep traction below third gear if not impossible with the 4.77.

I got them from another board member. He opted not to install the gears and stay stock. He had numerous problems with his installer. $300 included the gears, install kit, and yellow box You bet I jumped on that quick when I saw it was available.
