S2K vs. NSX
I raced him yesterday. it was a 92 I dont know what all he had. The guy just bought it and asked me what i ran in the 1/8th mile. I replied with "Last time I ran i had the A/C on and someone in the car and it pulled a 9.0 that was before some of my shit i have put on." He says "O ok." Then a minut later he calls me back over "Yea this ran a 8.2 in the 1/8th" So I was going home to empty my trunk becuase it was full of stuff, and I was also going to take my license plate off since it covers my intake. One of my friends calls "Hey you want to go from a dead stop or rolling or what?" I said "dead stop!" So we got up to this light. It goes green we both launched. 2nd gear They said I had about 2 cars on him or soo. I was into 4th gear and there was a car so it all kinda got
ed up from there. It was close though. So we are going to race again so I will post up results later!!
Be careful! Remember when you were racing the SRT on your learner's permit (with your dad in the car) and we were busting your balls....
You said, well everybody races through 1st and 2nd gear.... and this way I won't speed when I get my license.....
Racing into 4th puts you at 100mph +, right? It's hard not to have fun with this car, but just be safe okay?

It's possible to beat a 3.0 NSX, especially if the driver isn't that good. The 3.2 is much faster.
The 91 - 95 NSXs arn`t as fast as everyone thinks... I have beaten 2 of the 3 that I have raced. I beat the first one by about a half a car and the other one I don`t think I won but everyone said it was a really close race and they said I won by a hair. Then I raced a 97 and got smoked
Also on a side note I drove my friends NSX for 2 days and I don`t think it handles better then my S2000 and he agreed (because he mad my S for 2 days)
P.S. I am stock and all the races were from a dead stop...I don`t do rolling starts.

i had the privaledge of driving a 97. Great car. I would trade mine for one in a heartbeat. It belonged to a buddy of mine that also has an S, and another beater nsx (94)
Is it worth 90K new, I feel it is not, but a clean 97 is worth the money I believe.
any MY, that car is so very cool

Actually pre-97 are not as slow as everyone thinks (people usually think it is slow for the price), unless you think stock S2000 is super slow.
NSX are very easy to launch from a dig, no need to rev it up, hard launch are virtually effortless. Given same driver skill, NSX will win 4 out of every 5 times.
Unlike S2000, there are NSX equipped with AUTOMATIC tranny.
Keep in mind early 91~92 NSX are also the lightest, no power steering, no targa top, 150lbs lighter than 97~05 NSX-T.
270hp, 3010lb curb weight with full tank of gas.
97~05 NSX are near Z06 level, Road and Track March 02 issue tested 02 NSX, Z06, 911. NSX is virtually same as Z06 in slightline performance.
0~60 in 4.6sec without any weight reduction:

If I am the driver in S2000, I think I can beat pre-97 NSX 1 out of every 5 attempts, ok maybe two, but it will require a lot of concentration and effort.
no chance in hell versus 97~05 NSXs.
NSX forever...First off I`d like to say thanks for the thumbs up on the kill and second I didn`t mean that to sound like I was shitting on the car. I am a NSX lover infact I`d take it over a Ferrari any day (no matter how stupid that might sound) The car is just that beautiful to me...But I do agree for 90K they should be a bit quicker in 1/4 Mile
I think 97-05 are the best years and I am keeping in mind that in the early 90s few cars were that fast in the 1/4. Offering that car in automatic is just plain stupid there is no solid explaination for a lazy driver who wants a supercar in my personal opinion that car should be offered in 2 options
1.) 3.2 Vtec V6
2.) 3.5 Litre V6 with about 325-350 Hp and about 300 TQ (well never see that much torque from a Honda though =(
The S2000 is just as fast 1/4 mile wise as the early model NSXs
I think it handles better!
So besides it being the S2000 to me it is also known as the Baby NSX
