Default s2k vs SC430

Not much to brag about but i thought i share.

I was on my way to work this morning around 6:30ish am. Doing my usual routine just weaving in and out of traffic to keep me a wake, all of sudden this black sc430 flyby out of no where. So i was like hmmm what better way to keep me awake then a little bit of high reving and listening to vtec. so i down shift engage vtec to catch up. By the time my front was next to his passenger door i notice he decided to punch it. I floored it and started to reel him in. Near the end of 3rd he was behide my bumper (thanks to the the short ass the s2k has ) there was a car in front of me... about 50 yrds, so i decided to cut him off Later down the road we line up again. I did a 6k-7k launch and had about 1 car length on him and continue to leave him behide. I let off around 90ish mph. For a 60k car i think lexus/toyota should have gave it more power.

Those cars are no joke man. My friends Turbo LS hatch had a problem with one. They have a 4.3L 300hp/325tq V8. Thats a lot of power for a car like that. I'm surprised it wasnt the other way around. Are you boosted?

hahahah are you joking? They run 14.4 1/4 mile. If you friend had problem with that then he should line up with a b18c or b18c5 eg or ek, if he can't beat that then its time for him to get a vtec head. Turbo ls-vtec

You know alot of people say the same thing about our cars...."FOr 30k, honda should've gave our cars more power." Like the honda, i'm sure lexus designed the car for other things besides going fast in a quarter mile.

lets put it this way.

what car can you buy that is just as nice around 30k?

What car can you buy that is in the 60k range?
with that too

except, i think he was trying to say people dont always buy cars for performance. sure, you could almost get a new zo6 for the price of a sc430, but some people want a luxury car. if they wanted a performance car, theyd get the zo6.

Hope you didnt get offended w/ my reply. I would say the same thing when an srt would rag on the s2000 for being slow. Just because the s2000 gets beat by an srt w/ a $40 mod(MBC), doesn't mean the srt is a better car, eh?
And you've never heard of anyone saying that the honda is underpowered? Honestly, you need to read other forums out there besides s2k.

as far as your argument about what car i can get for the same price range thats just as nice as the s2000, well, thats very subjective. whats your definition of nice? the very loud interior of the s2000?, the tail happy handling of our cars etc etc.. for arguments sake, the cars that come to mind are: STI, rx8, evolution, 350z, SRT, acura TSX, etc... Each car have their own merits in different categories, dependso n which category you pick.

Sooo in conclusion, lol.... for 60k i'm sure lexus could've put more than 300 horses under the hoodetc.. but do you really need 400, or 500, on a luxury convertible car? lol
And if i was an srt, sti, or evolution driver, i could EASILY say the same thing about the s2000.

oh yea, nalvle, i have a 2000 silverstone too, and my name is also Chris.. lol funny coincidence.

and on yea to the original poster, i'm not ragging on you, its just that comments like your own i issually see directed at our cars.... so just had to put my .02cents in. I still wouldn't pick the SC430 over my s2000, but thats because i value performance more than luxury.. but i'm sure when i get older, i may have a change of heart.. but i dont see that coming anytime soon. lol
