Post S2K vs. SRT-6

A buddy of mine has an '05 SRT-6. Very nice. I drove it and it was quick, but deceivingly so--being an automatic it just didn't feel as quick as a stick...if that makes any sense.

Anyways, we talked about having a friendly race in a few weeks when my new FD is broken in. Has anybody raced an SRT-6? Any predictions?

I'm pretty sure they are quite a bit quicker than the S.....they should be for close to 50k new. They are good for low to mid 13's I think. Thats just off the top of my head though. It'll be a cool run anyways. Remember the pics and/or vids. Did you just have one of the 4.56 FD's put in?

It is my understanding that a stock SRT-6 runs the 1320 in ~13.5. When I drove the car it didn't feel that quick. I have the 4.57-R FD, which could theoretically put me in the low 13s. I also have a few other power mods. I know that he would kick my butt top-end, but down-low it should be interesting.

Deceivingly slow. They certainly don't throw you back in your seat.

An advantage I foresee him having is shifting--I could lose precious seconds shifting while he is pedal to the metal.

My new FD will be broken in by next weekend. I'll get the diff fluid changed and will be ready to rip. My shifting is pretty good and I've been practicing my launches (prior to the new FD). I am sure we'll do a couple runs from a dig and a couple 40+ runs.

Let us know how it goes. I also have the 4.57 R plus some "power mods", so I'm definitely interested. Good luck!
