Default S2k vs SRT4

tonight on the way home from work i came across one of those Neons, and he kept revving his engine on me so i decided to take a detour from going home to catch a light. when we finally caught a light, it took forever for the light to turn green...and then whne it finally did, i was looking at something else on the road so he took off before me...and i only got to launch it at 4500 , so my car bogged like crazy. when i finally got it going i missed second ..not only that my lane merged into his....so decided to let off the gas....after all that he was only a car length ahead of me....so i guess i did ok.

i wanted one more chance...so at the next light i held my rpm's to 6500 and got a perfect launch, but he didnt wanna race anymore i guess. so i let off the gas and then i hear him rev-up behind me when i was in second already...waaaay out of VTEC. he passed me up but i was on his ass until about 80 mph...he walked on me. i waved at him when we stopped but he brushed me off. . i lost, but maybe i'll get a better run next time

what do you all think he has to walk on me like that? all i heard was a BOV and a loud exhaust

MY02 - intake and exhaust
Neon Srt4-

sorry for the looong input.

thats probably all he had - i used to have an srt-4 and s2k's weren't
ever a problem usually with your mods.

sucks to say that but hey, i'm a stooker now for better reasons than
just going fast!

plain and simple, you couldn't drive. If he was stock you should have pulled.

Well if you only launched at 4500, AND you missed 2nd gear, and only lost by 1 car...then I'd say (obviously) you would've beat him...especially if he was in only in stock form.

You'll do better next time

guy probably had stage 2 kit. Don't know why everyone thinks that these things are such easy kills. Doesn't take much for them be able to embarass true sports cars.

SRT-4 will beat a lightly modded S2K even in stock condition from a roll. They put down about 220-235WHP stock; and the newer ones have LSD. They are a bit heavier than a S2K, but if they have simple mods like a boost controller and exhaust they can become pretty quick. There is a 77 page thread based on one of my videos that was posted up walking down a Stage 2 SRT-4 when he got the jump on me:

http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113187

In either case, they are all (that I have raced regardless of mods) slow; but still fast enough to take a S2K that is lightly modded and especially when not properly driven.
