This happened about 2yrs ago but good story to tell:

So I was in Downey (Firestone and Lakewood) it was around 10:00pm was riding alone on my way home when I caught a red light. Next thing you know a blue STI pulls next to me. The STI driver had someone with him they both kept looking at me and just talking smack. The light turns green and both take off normally. I knew that they were messing with me but didnt really care since I dont really like running my car. We both catch another red light and the guys are just laughing while looking at me. I started getting pissed The light turns green and we both take off normal excetp this time I kept running till 9000rpm. I shift to second and the STI and I were toe to toe. It wasnt till 5th gear that I was ahead by a foot or so. We caught another red light, this time the guys were giving me props, asking me what I had under the hood. When I told them I was stock they couldnt believe it.

so it sounded like a 5mph start roll run...good kill, nothing like killing cocky turbo car drivers

 

nice!!! those guy's in the STI couldn't drive for S@$T and they were the one talking all the smack hahah Love it

Yea great run man. I went up against a new sti the other day he could not keep up but not sure if he was really trying or just crusing ethier way we seperated and both gave the thumbs up i love this car

 

that's great news.... I feel bad for those idiots!

I once raced an S2000 that was stock and I just stayed in 6th gear from 70mph and I was right there with him. I didn't even downshift.... I'm modded on the stock turbo though

 

I have destoryed many WRX's. But never yet raced an STI... hmmm I might have to catch one

 

i always seem to lose by a car or so to STI's so thats a pretty good kill.

 

Wonder if gears help vs an STI?
