Default s2k vs. trailblazer ss

I was on the road the other night and I got stopped at a red light, when I noticed a black trailblazer ss next to me, which may have been somewhat modded but I know nothing about those cars except that they have 400+hp ls1's.

He had pretty dark tint and I saw him roll his window part way down and eye my car up. The light turned green, and he floored it, so I accepted the challenge. He launched (easy to do with a 4 speed auto, right?) and I started normally.

From a dig, we were just about even until we topped 80. From there, I pulled a couple car lengths on him til I shut down around 110. It seemed like every time I hit vtec I slowly reeled him in with my power band. Had we kept accelerating, I would have put a few more car lengths on him over 110 I suspect. I slowed back down to the speed limit, but he was a sore loser and kept speeding and cut me off. Asshole.

be careful against those ss's, from what I remember, they can hang with if not beat stock 00-03 S's... good kill though

It's an LS2, not LS1. Most owners are knobs, was probably very pissed off about losing to a Honda. My friend has one, he's an ex-S2000 owner. Great for an SUV, handles well, about equal to the S2000 for straight line speed. Feels a lot faster than it is.

You say you pulled him every time you hit VTEC? You shouldn't be falling out of VTEC on each shift. If you were shifting so poorly that you fell out of VTEC, I can't see you beating a TB SS.

Good kill.

I raced on a while back when I just had 4.77's and weight reduction and murdered it from a dig.

Really? I'm stock and I didn't murder him but I clearly won. And you're right OMG VTEC, I'll leave it to someone with that name to tell me that. What I meant is everytime I went through the power band I would pull more until I had to shift. I mean it's not that hard to drag race a car, the hardest part is launching (which I didn't even do)...all you really have to do is floor the accelerator, shift at redline, and repeat. It was even easier for him though, that's why it's even funnier that I won. I was thinking "what a dumbass" til I saw the SS on the side and then I was like "ehhhh maybe".

I don't get why trucks and suvs try to be sports cars, aren't they designed for hauling heavy loads? Seeing a giant truck weaving in and out of traffic at 80+ is not a good sight to behold...

hmmm the fact you rolled normally and beat him is impressive. what are your mods? I have an 09 and with two car seats (no kids) and other random kid shit in the car I ran a 13.6. Even the local s2000s here i would beat from a dig or roll up til about 130

I'm supercharged making 300rwhp, I lost to my buddies ss about a 3 months ago. He has slot of work done to his. I'll ask him his mods. From 0-66 he put 1 car on me. We left of at 66 cuz we got pulled over lol. Cop was cool and asked who won, still gave us tickets tho. Lol. Later I found out I had a boost leak. Time to run him again
