oK, So I got home a few hours ago from the races out in West Palm here in South FL... and we were about 75 cars in a huge parking lot, well this guy in a blue WRX was out there and I heard alota positive things about this car, so I walk up to him and ask him if he would like to run... he sais sure, what ya driving? I pointed to my yellow s2000 about 40 feet away and smiled very big and then he looked at me and said, ohhhhh maybe later... so after talking to him bout 15minutes we head out to the road in front of the big parking lot where everyone was standing. well picture about 100-120 people all standing by the side of the road...


1st run:
We line up and I tell him to do the 3 honks, honk,,,,honk,,,,HONK!!! Drop the clutch at 7000 RPM and I immediately JUMP a car length ahead spinnin my tires through 1st redlining speedshifting into 2nd he is at my trunk redline 2nd and slam it into third BOOOM IM PULLIN AWAY over 1 car length then drop it down in 4th at 105mph I beat him by 1.5 car lengths and im with the top down with a huge smile going WOOOOOOOOOOOO! hehe

2nd run:
I felt that I spun my tires too much dropping at 7k so this time I decided to drop at 6k, we line up again and everyone is going OooOOOooohhh! and cheering so its getting really exciting heh, I look over to him and say ok,.... lets go, so he starts the honk1, honk2, <revving up 6k> honk3 DROP CLUTCH pooof ""perfect launch"" and I am about 1/4 car length ahead and then VROOOM THERE GOES VTECH PSHHHHHH I literally jump up to bout 3/4 of a car length then slam it into 2nd "perfect shift" and right back to 6.5k rpm and he is stickin with me then I am redlining and pullin now a total of 1 car length and then POP into 3rd and vroooooom pshhhhhh here I go and I am smiling so big because I shifted perfect finally (3rd was a prob for me at 1st) and then im abut 1.5 car lengths ahead by the middle of 3rd and then he shut it down...

Came back to the huge parking lot and I literally had 75 people standing around my car with the hood up, hehehe I was like and the feeling was great because a few people lost money the majority id say 70% thought the WRX would take me.

You shouldn't have a problem with a stock WRX through the 1/4 mile and would destroy one from a roll. However, this guy obviously couldn't drive/launch for sh!t. He should have put a couple lengths on you from from the launch with no problem. Not much can touch a properly launched AWD car on the street. Good kill!

 

no actually he is known in the group to be an awsome driver and the s2k when dropped at 6000 gets an awsome launch aswell 1st gear was practically side by side but the s2k pulls really nice, this is one car when vtec engagement goes you get pinned back in your seat, thats why we ran 2 times because he thought he wasnt launching properly the 1st time but when we got back he admitted to everyone his 2nd launch was perfect, he barely had wheel spin...

I don't see a stock S2000 on street tires cutting a sub 2 second 60' consistently. I'm not trying to start a war here, but the launch is THE advantage of AWD. The only other car to beat my VR-4 off the line, EVER, in a streat race was another AWD car. Granted the VR-4 and WRX are 2 totally different cars, but the AWD advantage is still there. If he tached up to redline and dumped the clutch he should have slingshotted (word?) out in front and blown you off the line. I don't know man, not calling BS, but I don't get it. Maybe his clutch is slipping.
