Coming home last night minding my own business, this Z28 paced me after I passed him up in the fast lane. Downshifted to 4th since I knew he wanted to play, he gunned it first but I was ready. He was ahead half a car, shifted to 5th and I pretty much stayed the same distance from him. Shut down then started driving normal again. He pulled up next to me again and I was already in 4th but we both gunned it at the same time. We're even but at the end of 4th I was slowly inching away, shifted to 5th and I was ahead 1 car. Shut down at about 120ish. I have a VAFC, AEM CAI, and B&B exhaust. Anyone else have similar experiences with a Z28?

Sounds like it was an LT1 or an LS1 not really racing.

The only time I ever raced an S2000 from 70mph, my 1999 Mustang GT pulled away pretty hard, so make any necessary adjustments

The only Trans Am/Z28 I have ever raced was an LS1 WS6, which apparently is the ram-air Pontiac Trans Am, on I90 going east into Chicago. I had one passenger, as did he. Holy crap, was that car fast. I rarely have anyone pull away from me, but that car, unreal. I assume it was stock, because there would be no need to spray me, just a lowly 4.6 The LS1's extra 60 horses pulled like you'd expect a 60 HP bike to pull on a 2.5 HP go-kart. It was not pretty. I was only trying to show my roommate how fast they were, I wasn't thinking I would have a chance, and I clearly had no chance

LT1 cars are like 92-97, LS1 cars are 98-2002.

A LT would have run even with you, and a LS1 would have run away from you.
