s2k vs ZO6
Well this is my first posted street encounter...because it's my first with my s on the bottle. I just got a zex kit with a 75shot installed this week (Dyno results-max power 267.0; max torque 203.0). It engages with WOT. Anyways, how do these things usually start. So I pull up to this light, & notice a shiny red ZO6(sharp car). My brother is shotgun and he says, "look, he's got gauges on his a-pillar, he'll race you!!!" I look over and nod at the fella, and he nods back...it's on. I reach up and turn on the juice switch. The light turns green and we go...nothing dramatic, just like starting from any other light. I punch it the same time he does and we are dead even through first. I shift a bit quicker than him into second, and that buys my a bumper lead. Well that didn't last long. By the end of 2nd that was gone and he started pulling. By the end of 3rd he had about 1 car length. That's just about when he shut it down. We come up to the next light and I give him a
. He proceeds to tell my that he is supercharged, and I tell him that I have nitrous. I think lola(my s) held her own quite well. I will be going to the drag strip this Friday to get some official times. My best before the juice was 14.2. I am hoping for a 1sec improvement. Judging from this encounter...I'll be close to it.
Anyone in the Tampa Bay area reading this...I'd like to see more s2k's at the track this Friday night. My brother is bringing his. Bradenton Motorsports Park calls it club 1320...which means import night. Most imports won't race us...even a mustang has backed out of racing at the last second. Solo runs are OK, but looking over at another car is better. Does anyone else have this problem...
No offense.........but assuming this guy could drive the car, its time that you wake up. This race is going to be filed into the ever-growing "Unbelieveable S2k races" folder. From your description, the Z06 obviously didn't launch that bad since you said that once he hit second you were a bumper ahead and you said he was starting to pull. Here is where I have a problem. You said by the end of 3rd the guy had a 1 car lead.........now, a normal Z06 would have about 3 cars on you after second gear and a inumerable amount on you after 3rd gear. Then when you throw a SC into the mix, its just plain lights out. So, you were either dealing with a normal C5 or a person who was just wanted to go 1/4 throttle

A normal C5 wouldn't catch back up to an S2000 puting down 270whp by 2nd gear. He probably mentioned the fact he was supercharged to let you know he was just toyin and havin some fun.
file it whereever you like...or maybe i'll file it for ya! I have a place in mind. I was there, & it was a ZO6. I am seriously doubting any supercharger...however, would it so far fetched that I lost by 1 car length shutting down just before 4th. Absolutely not! He no doubt would have pulled more into and through 4th gear getting to the true 1/4 mile distance. I thought that I would be nice and share a fun experience with you, but if you wanna flame, i'll keep my experiences to myself...who needs ya.
