Default SC S vs turbo mustang?

While cruising on the highway there was this fox body mustang that caught up to me and is now riding my ass, so I slowed down, so next thing he gets on my side revving at me. not wasting time I downshift, I think we were rolling at about 40. we take off and immediately I pulled him. We went at it again from like 70 and I just wasted him.

The only thing I noticed was a very dull psssshhht sound everytime he shifted, so i thought it had to be a turbo. which i thought damn, the thing is running pretty bad, or he has a sound player with that sound. He did have a single gauge on the dash which I figured it has to be boost.

so what the hell was it? turbo or not. I honestly thought that a stock S would have been a more even match for this mustang.

Also this porsche was coming up my ass fast on the left lane, so i downshifted and went for it to triple digits, He was way back. It was either a regular boxter or an S.
When we pulled up to the light, to my surprise, it was an older man, im talking older, with grey hair, an big long moustache which the whole picture just looked funny to me, I expected a young kid. So he goes, very nice, not bad not bad,
so I just thanked him and kept on my way.

Good kills!

I don't know anything about a turbo Fox body Mustang, so I'm not gonna comment.

coulda been on the bottle, slight hissing sound when the nitous kicks in. Way to waste him anyway. Hate mustangs.

it was more than just a hissing sound, I am almost certain it was some sort of blow off valve

Maybe it was a Mustang SVO which had a Turbo 4 which was used in the Merkur XR4Ti. There are still a few around from the mid 80's and if in good shape sporting a turbo upgrade or other mods. They do have distinctive 2 tier Wing and an intake duct on the hood..

good thought

but it was defenitely a v8, and it was a fox body, and plus it didnt have the hood scoop that the SVO's had.
and plus i could hear the v8 rumble

I wish I would have talked to him but he turned off somewhere else.

Even on a extremely mild tune, stock headed/intake 5.0 with a single or duel turbo setup is a easy mid 12 sec, 110+ car.

The same goes with 150shot of nitrous. Even 100 shot will get easy high 12's and 108+ trap speeds.

I'd bet it was a supercharged 5.0 with a loud BOV.. I think the ones Vortech makes are fairly loud.. With everything else stock it would be a mid 13's car...

Errr...no....With light mods and a decent driver it's a mid 13 second car.

Even with a cheap supercharger (vortec, 5psi) it would be a low 13/high 12 second car.

And unless it's a 88- 49 state car, it would have a bypass valve, not a bov.

Err yes, a stock 5.0 with 3.07's and an SC is a mid 13's car.. maybe low 13's, but certainly not 12's without exhaust, manifold, head work, etc... BOV, Bypass valve, same thing... Either way I'd bet that's what it was...
