Default sentra v spec ser

I have an 06 s2000 its stock except for 18 inch ssr wheels. My buddy has an 04 nissan spectra v spec ser its a stick. last night we were cruseing around town ( my top was down ) and we line up at a 5 mph roll and go for it. I put two lengths on him by 80 and we shut it down. The second run was another 5 roll and he missed third. I was upset because his car has 175 hp and weighs 27xx pounds and he kept up with me. Now im not an amazing driver but im pretty fair, he is not the best. how did he keep up?

his specs
Horsepower : 175 hp @ 6000 rpm
Torque : 180 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm
Redline : 6200 rpm

Top speed : 135 mph
0-60 mph : 7.2 sec.

5 mph roll would most likely benefit him more then you since he gets his hp and tq quicker. Go from a roll when you are in vtec and see if that makes a difference. 2 car lengths is still a pretty considerable margin if you shut down at 80mph though. Just my 2 cents...

Is that electronic limited top speed? If its gear limited, it has some short gearing.

According to good ol wikipedia, that year sentra had very short gearing which helped him keep up.

having owned an 03 spec v prior to the s2k i can tell you that they are definitely quick from a stop or 5mph rolling start but once you get into 4th gear they really run out of breath. 3rd gear redline and you're only going like 80mph. the gearing is super short and its really torquey. 1-3rd gear blasts were fun but thats about it.

honestly i kinda miss the right now torque of the spec v.

well from a dig I killed him from a slow roll would be a much better chance for them where us S2ks make no power!
