I have just acquired a 2002 S2000, so I wouldn't know if you would win that race, but I do have a friend who has a 2001 S2000 who raced a Porsche Boxter (with a stick) up to 145 m/h and won. He is a very experienced driver though. All he does is race. He is nuts! But anyway, he said that when they took off, it was pretty even, but then he started "walking" him and finally took him. That was in Orlando, Florida area.

I'd call this one a driver's race, but the Boxster S has a slight advantage. I've raced one of these through a straight road, which led into some twisties, and pulled on the Boxster considerably since the guy didn't know how to drive, and was probably driving an automatic.

 

It would typically be a driver's race BUT since your car is not broken in to its fullest yet (more miles, more power) and he is driving an auto...well...it is STILL a drivers race.

If you were broken in properly and he had a shifter, then I would give a slight slight advantage to the S, provided both drivers were equally skilled.

How many miles does it take to get the S fully broken in. I was so excited when i finished new engine break in at 600. Does this mean I can expect more power the more miles i put on???? I now have around 1800 on the car. Is it fully broken in yet????

 

600 miles until you should use VTEC. 10,000 miles (max) until it is fully broken in.

 

this race is v important to me and to him(boxter s) because up here if u dont win ,u will be humiliated (in a fun kinda way) so i cant bare the thought of my new s2k being treated like that!!
my friend won lots of races so he should now taste v-tec power right?

 

You SHOULD beat him senseless - auto Boxster S versus an S2000? I don't think so. Only the 03' Boxster S should give you a run.

 

Anyone remember the video of the 00 S2K vs Boxter S? It was from one of those British reviewers and the S2K was faster...

Add an auto BS and if you can get a decent launch, even in a slightly broken in S2K, you will pull on him once you pass 60 or 70. With 600M you should rape him. Stay in vtec the whole way and you will win.
