Default Silver S2000 vs WRX on the freeway

On my way home from my apartment near campus, I ran across a silver S2000 on the freeway which looked pretty stock with the top down, but had clear reflectors in front. As I went to pass the female driver in the middle lane, I could hear as she downshifted her steed, waiting for me to go by. At first, I did not think anything of it. I thought she was just trying to show off the sound of her engine or something.... As I respectfully passed her in the middle lane, she nailed it from a speed of about 60MPH, and just ran away. This pissed me off.

After she was a couple of bus lengths in front, she slowed down again to about 60mph. Again, I gained on her (I was cruising in 5th gear all along here guys), and as I was about to pass again, I heard the same sound again.... that VTEC drone.... She then gassed it again and put 4 bus lengths on me and then slowed down again.

At this point, I decided that enough was enough. I turned off the AC, but left the car in 5th gear. I then approached her again (she in the fast lane, me in the middle lane). This time, as I got beside her, she looked over with a huge grin on her face, and then gassed it again. This time, I waited until she got 1 car length on me, and then, I down shifted into third gear at 60mph, and just immediately reeled her in like a large Bass. She looked VERY suprised as I blew right by her. I then proceeded to put 3 or 4 buslengths on her. By this time, I was doing almost 120mph. I then hit the brakes and returned to 60mph. A few seconds later, she came back again, this time, riding my bumper.

Next thing I knew was that she turned on her HID's behind me. Perhaps to intimidate me or something. I then moved over for her to pass, with my 4th gear already engaged. As she pulled by, I dropped the hammer, and cancelled her momentum. As soon as 4K hit, she began to shrink rapidly in the rearview . It was almost as if she was in reverse or something!

I put a couple of buslengths on her this time, and decided that she had learned her lesson

She stayed a buslength back from me until her exit, which came about an hour after our little pissing contest.

My car is pretty well modded, and puts down 290HP (with more to come) to all 4 wheels courtesy of my PE1820 turbo

PS: DO the 03 S2K's come with clear reflectors? Or were they aftermarket????

WRX's are very nice cars. I was in the market for one but went for a E36 M3 instead.

Nice car and nice kill!

Cool! Not to point out the S2000 put I can't stand when some people think they drive the fastest car on the road and then just get spanked by a modded car and that settles that. But then they probably don't accept the spanking...Post a pic of your WRX sometime. Sleeper or pimp'n?

Fast cars are fun. Fast cars made quicker are more fun. You never, and I mean, you NEVER know what's out there. A good reminder.

A stock S2000 will walk all over a stock WRX at highway speeds. I know, I own both. I can keep up neck to neck going from 55 to 90 or so with a buddy of mine's TurboXS stage 2 WRX. On the other hand I went for a long drive this weekend who has a built up WRX (Cob built 2.0 engine, UTEC, VF 30, STI Injecters, Supra FP, big ass APS front mount) and when he gets on it I feel like I am racing a Z06 or something, he just pulls away and keeps going.

my car isn't what i would call sleeper since i have the subaru oem bodykit, and 17 inch rims. Those and my exhaust give the game away. But to most people, the car is stock with a mellon shooter exhaust and rims. Most of the money is under the hood. I intentionally got a bigger top mounted intercooler just to not give the game away. I also have the JDM v7 sti hoodscoop to shove extra air down the intercooler. To those who know about wrxen, the mods are obvious (since you .can see the intercooler through the hoodscoop), but to the average joe blow, it looks l

Jigga,
Sounds like fun. My buddy used to have an SR40 but it kept leaking friggin oil so he switched to the smaller VF 30. He has been doing more autoX and less track days so the quicker spoolup is a bonus. He is running a UTEC with selectible maps (14.5 psi street gas, 17.5 psi street gas, and 19 & 21 psi race gas). Its funny but his FMI is giving him problems since the silicone hoses swell up like ballons under pressure and he consistantly gets 2 psi less than he should because of this. His car looks stock, just lowered and he has 18 Superleggas over his BBK. My WRX is basically stock with some TurboXS exhaust, prodrive springs, Rota/S03s. Are you on NASIOC?

Tubedriver- my setup is similar, except my turbo is much bigger, and my aftermarket intercooler is still on top of the engine. [/B][/QUOTE]
