Slk 350 encounter
Was behind one of these earlier today..
The guy crawled to about 15mph, then booted it, seamed a bit like cheating to me as it was an automatic, but i must say it sounded great.
Anyway..
i thought this was mine, i was wrong! he slowly pulled away a few cars lengths. In my defence tho- he was on his own and i had a boot full of morrisons and the lady next to me.
I'm sure this will be put down to my driving skills!

S2000 not as fast as it seems against modern machinery shocker
If it makes you feel any better I had a Zafira GSI 'keeping pace' with me on the motorway a few weeks back.. the only time I was able to gain any ground was when I was absolutely flooring it. But was I bothered? hell no

The amount of power advantage you need to pull away convincingly is more than you might expect on a straight.
While the SLK would probably win in an all out drag (Assuming it is similar in weight and has more power) getting the jump on you does not help your chances any
Through corners assuming equal driver skill it would be a much closer affair, you would need a shed load more power to make any noticeable difference on the straights.
My best friends Mustang GT puts down about 350-370 and a hell of a lot more torque but he will not pull away THAT much.

I had a spirited blast this morning on my extensive private road network, it seems 130 ish leptons is the best I can get with the roof down not bad for a 10 yr old stock s2000.
the 4 blokes on a viraitey of litre bikes enjoyed the blast with me and none of them realy pulled until we got onto my persolal 3 lane drag strip where the 134 lepton reading occured.
I suspect putting the roof up may add 10 or so leptons.
the fun part of driving the s2000 is the vtec aceleration kick and the taught way it goes round corners.
having ridden various litre sports bikes at 150+ leptons I've found 130 -140 leptons is about my limit
