Default so, what's faster?

Thought ya'll could give me the straight answer here.

Ok, assuming no mods, just bone stock.

What cars out there would be a driver's race for the S2K?

What cars out there would smoke the S2k?
(just to keep more in the realm of reality, let's leave the cars that would smoke the S to what we could most likely see cruising around the ole interstate on a daily basis and not some super rare exotic)

cheers!

Catfish, you might want to specify some more details. Are you asking only about the 1/4 mile from a standing start? Or a whole mile? From a roll? Or just to 80 MPH? On a road track or auto-x?

The Boxster S is not a driver's car race. It has an edge in most of those categories. The regular Boxster is closer to equal. The 350Z seems like a good choice. Some of the non-M 3 series or older M3's should be very close. The STi and EVO both nibble at the same performance envelope (but almost any AWD car has a launch advantage at 0-whatever). I think we just about universally dislike the SRT-4 but that's a good straight-line car. There's almost as much Mustang hating here but the standard Mustang GT is just about an even drag racing match.

The driver's race comparison is fun. The list of common cars that smoke an S2000 is not as much fun to list, sorry.

There are hundreds of cars out there. I think you are going to have to be a little more specific.

Saud2K, given equal drivers a Boxter S will hand the S2000 its ass at auto-x (that's why the SCCA rates the Boxster S higher). And the S2000 will usually beat the EVO on that same course. That's my point about, what form of racing?

ok, here's some more specifics:

let's say you're cruising along the interstate doing a mellow 60 mph and you're personal limit of brazeness is in the 90-100 mph range. So, one race would be who'd be on par or better at 60-100.

Next, make it a relatively safe setting like an autocross.

And, I know the S isn't a dragster, but it's still pretty solid off the line, so let's say from a stop light to merging on the highway.

Three different scenarios for ya.

thx!
