Default Something wrong with my car?

Cadillac coup with the V8 (Think its a 4.6) in it. 120lb driver. Me in my S with a 180lb driver, equal passenenger.

0-100 he had me by 2-3 cars. shut down after that thinking WTF?

I kinda slept at the line because no launch, didnt even start revving early. He had a car and a half on me by the time I fully let out the clutch. It didn't feel tourquie at all.

Something wrong with my car? We came back, checked for exhaust leakes and found nothing. Intake was fine. Strange sounds when I was racing earlyer though, sounded like a BOV. When I shifted at 9k rpms it would do a tshhh/whosshhh sound. Possilby just because I am running a testpipe. I had a compression test not long ago before I started modding. Think I should do another one?

No, it was old. It was some form of an Eldorado.

I was going to say, if he bogged the launch and it was a CTS-V he would have lost by 3 bus lengths.

I believe those older eldorado's are in the mid 6's for 0-60. If you slept on them and they went for it I could see it happening, although eventually you should have started to gain some ground.

the caddies will run mid 14's with the northstar, so if you didnt launch right, chances are he will take ya.

if you dont launch right you are at a major disadvantage for 1)torque, 2) them being auto and just stepping on it right off the line. I dont think anything is wrong with your car

I think the car is fine...Those northstars are very quick to be so heavy...I guess your launch (or lack there of) played a huge part in that race for some reason...I raced my buddies caddie with a northstar (newer model) and just walked his ass...I dont see how he got you by 3 cars ....I would race him again and get a better launch minus a passenger and see how it turns out

Even with a bad launch, shouldn't I have caught up and passed him by 100?
