Default SRT4 are really nice neons

It was the last street before getting to my house. I see a nice white SRT4 which is a nice neon. The guy gets behind me and follows me to my house very creepy. SRT4 owners though are kind of weird though because their cars arent Neons .
Well, he just parks outside my and I tell tell him whats up. Blah blah he said he wanted to run so I jumped at the chance. Well I found a strip that was one mile long with no traffic and straight. Well we go off a light there I am reving my piece to 6000 RPM. Then the damn clown stalls out hahaha. We go at it again off the next light I launch at 6000 RPM. I keep on going and he never pulled on me through out the power bands. Well we make a U turn and I run him again this time it seemed to be the real deal! From the launch I was ahead. Then he slowly started pulling next to me then I let off. Then we go to the light where he stalled out. This time I launched my car at 7700 RPM. Then the clown misses 3rd!
Well I talked to the kid seemed like a nice kid. He asked me if my car was a v6? and I told him no. Then he said a 2.5? nope nope! NOPE! NOPE! I told him its an inline 4. No turbo just NA. Its completely stock pretty much besides the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate. I told him to take his ass to the dealership and buy one of those mopar kits. Seems to me like he needs to learn how to drive though. Either way I got 2 good runs with him and pulled away from him in both.

maybe you misunderstood him, perhaps he was asking you if you'd teach him to drive stick, since apparently he didnt know how.

I wouldn't doubt it...probaly just another 16 year old american rice boy, dawging an SRT-4! I sware I would never buy a used SRT-4...well I'd never buy a new one either but you get my point...

From what I got from the story the guy obviously cannot drive...but do S2K's really need to launch at 7700 rpm to get any decent performance out of them?

Also...our you the type of guy that gets the jump and as soon as the other car starts gaining ground you immediately shut it down...because that is what you did on the one race.

launching at 7700 would probably be much too high, because you'll be over revving and into second gear pretty quickly.. i'm not an expert, but my opinion.. 6000 seems like optimal rpm from what i've read..

i got this sense also...

wow, i am not sure the stereotypes fit here.

it seems you were the cocky, thinks-he-owns-supercar, a-hole.
while the srt4 kid, was obviously an inexperienced driver who despite stalling out, losing a race, gaining ground on one where you shut down, he still wanted to pull over and talk to you.

yet you refer to him as a clown, tell him 'to take his ass to the dealer to get the mopar package', and come across as an overall jerk.

way to prove, that not all sterotypes are true.

srt4's are as much neone, as evo's are lancers.

Oh no at first I thought he was a cocky SRT4 owner....he followed me to my house come on. Then I figured out he couldnt really drive. I was him 2 months ago when I got my S. I usually race all the way through but had to let go because there was traffic. Either way I beat him when we got decent runs and he launched at me. S2k can be launched at 7700 RPM. They have no torque and you have a better chance of staying within powerband. An S2k went 13.77 being launched at 77000 RPM recently.

I told him to get that mopar package because ITS SICK! I've seen what it can do. If I had an SRT4 thats the first thing I'd do. He was also asking me how to make his car more powerful. He was talking about cold air intakes and I just stopped him. We exchanged phone numbers because he said he'd like to do it again some time so it was cool.

WAY off.

mitsubishi didn't take an old and dying FWD platform and suddenly throw a turbo into it to try and break into the 1/4 mile mentality sport compact scene.

the EVO has a completely different history and concept behind it.
