Default SRT4 and Tiburon

Today I have been dealt my first loss to an SRT4.

I was driving down the road this morning, and passed an SRT4 in the right lane. He kinda sped up, and then we were at the next light (not on the line). The guy shouted "hey what's up?". I started talking to him a bit and he asked if I wanted a little friendly run. Neither of us would give up our mods (hehe) so we hit another turn and lined up for a 20mph roll.

3 honks from him and we went. through 1st gear (about 38mph) i pulled half a car. End of 2nd and we were even and he was pulling. End of 3rd (80mph) going to 4th and he had almost a car on me. End of 4th (105mph) he had probably 2 cars on me. Into 5th and he stopped pulling. We shut down at 125mph with me pulling, but him winning by about 1 car or so.

Afterwards we pulled over and revealed each other's mods. He said he was stage 2 with stage 2 ECU, injectors, exhaust, intercooler spray, etc. He said he was running high octane mode and dyno'ed 284whp. he was impressed with my car and said so far I was the fastest S2000 he's run. (he's never run an FI'd S2k)

I wish I had asked if he was a member of the SRT forums. Maybe I'll find out if I can track him down on the forums.

Then later on, after running to the honda dealership to pick up an oil filter, I was headed back home. I drew the attention of a V6 tiburon GT. He had a MASSIVE aluminum wing on the back. I had seen a similar wing on the back of a stratus earlier this weekend. It was so big I actually did a double take because I thought his trunk was open. LOL. This thing was like the deck of an aircraft carrier. You could put 4 midgets in speedos onto this thing lying down to tan in the sun, and still have room to grill some burgers.

I passed by him in the left lane. He HAD been following the flow of traffic in the right lane. Upon passing him, I immediately heard the god awful rattle of his exhaust pipe, which was big enough to be used for a fat-kid tube-slide at a waterpark.

After driving like normal, with him getting next to me a few times to slow down/speed up/slow down/speed up, I end up next to him at a light about 5 minutes down the road. I'm next to him and I see it's him and his girlfriend in the car. He's got a hat kinda turned sideways/angled and he's leaning back and to the left of his seat, with his arm over the wheel.

Him: hey you wanna run or what fool?
Me: The only reason I'd be a fool would be to waste the gas.
Him: Your car ain't all that. I've smoked every Honda 2000 I've run.
Me: If they are parked on the side of the road they don't count.
Him: Yeah fool. Well I have a 0-60 of 2.9 seconds man. Faster than a Ferarri. I ran that at the track this weekend.
Me: You mean a 2.9 second 60 foot. You don't get a 0-60 at the track.
Him: No it said 0-60 on the slip fool.
Me: No, it's 60 FOOT time. You know... the amount of time it takes you to drive the width of your spoiler.
Him: Alright ricer. Honduh!

The whole time his ghetto ass girlfriend was like "yeah baby you tell that fool". ROFL

With no further desire to lose IQ points talking to this ghetto trash, the repreive of the cross traffic light is a welcome one. It turns yellow, then red.

I rev up to 6000, light turns, and I dump the clutch. He gets a little squal off the line as he tries to show me his 2.9 second 0-60 time. My car's tail steps out to the side, and I pulverize the little tiburon. I feel bad for that car, having that tool driving it every day. The guy gave up somewhere between the launch and me putting about a football field on him to 60.

Stupid ass ricer. God people like that annoy me. I am amazed how ghetto people can even be. It's like a completely different language!

Nice death against the SRT4. With 284hp to the ground, I wonder if he has problem with torque steer or not.

As for the tiburon, please tell me you're kidding about that dialogue. Surely, he wasn't that stupid.

Great stories. I can't believe he translated the 60 ft. time into 0-60mph time. I almost don't want to believe the 2nd story, it's just too damn funny!

No I'm serious. I can't even imagine how much drugs I'd have to do to make some shit like that up. I could have never imagined someone can be such a tool.

Actually those numbers are pretty good. He definitely has 300+ ft lbs of torque

With similar mods, my car put down 265 whp and 306 wt.

My best time to date is 12.86 @ 108.8

Intake
2.5" DP/Catback
Stage 2
Slicks

1/8th tank of gas....Spare tire/jack removed

Nice death Wisconsin S2k....

yeah he definitely pulled on me pretty good. I think maybe a slight boost delay and me being right in my powerband is why I got an initial jump. otherwise it was all him until the very top end where I think my gearing just kinda took over. that thing was fast.

i think he also was spinning his tires a bit when we first went as well, so he had some traction loss. i may not like the SRT4 neons, but the driver was cool, and his car had some nuts.
