Default SS Fears

I don't know what it is, but I do not like American cars. Not saying, I don't respect ONE, but the extra plastic, 'retro-styling', HEMI freak show, wagoneer, gas-guzzling bastard car makers feed an already misconception that their drivers are actually DRIVERS.

(With that, I say Z06 is ok with me...CTS-V growing....but still old-man fake 'Catera')

Anyways, the point of this post is that nowadays, as with most American styles, bigger is better and new 'features' wins over quality. For some reason, as I'm sure all are familiar with, I constantly get approached on the streets by Silverado SS's, SSR's, 300C's (its got a HEMI), 06 Mustang (retro stanks I call 'em) GT's, Camara RS's, and Firebird whatevers.

I haven't actually indulged these idiots yet mainly because of the busy streets we're on, but just curious if anyone has been 'up against' these things and if you know would my pride be hurt in my stock on stock, black on black 2k beauty?

I did indulge a Lexus GS400 and killed it!!! Not sure if the gaudy 22" rims, ugly midnight blue paint, or lack of driving skill doomed him. Either way, the fact that I dropped the hammer on him at 6500 was awesome.

Opinions would be nice.....no haters please.

S'okay. I can fully understand not liking American styling. That's a good honest hate. Tread lightly on the blanket quality statement though. That'd be holding on to memories of K-cars too long...

Why not just enjoy "driving" your beautiful car??? Why do so many S2K owners feel their car must beat every performance car they run into...especially "American Cars"???

...I just don't understand this "drag racer" mentality.

hemi freak show, interesting to call it that, id call it a great marketing strategy, but thats me...where does this misconception of actually being drivers come from? are people who drive american cars any worse than people who drive european or japanese cars because of the ads, one only needs to look at the ads of nissan to see the correlation ..btw lack of driver skill has little to do with an automatic, traction controlled really heavy sedan ...youre not better than them and it seems you have an s2000...btw i dont like american cars either, but i can understand why others do and i can respect that and not just say i do

1. you need a Livejournal so you don't waste S2ki's bandwidth with threads like these.

2. my american "gas-guzzler" and my high-tech import get roughly the same gas mileage. got an opinion for that one?

3. and to answer your questions, if it were a Camaro SS, Trans-Am, an SRT-8 300C, or an LS2 SSR your pride would be hurt, badly. very badly.

i can see my sarcasm was not dully noted, warmly welcomed, or slightly overlooked to answer the questions. i apologize if i offended any one. i keep forgetting that the black text gleaming back at me can't emulate the big smile i have on my face about cars in general.

case and point....just trying to get some response.

anyways, thanks for letting me know that in your opinion, i shouldnt defend my beauty, i'd get hurt if i tried to defend it, and that in some strange way....the fun i thought i'd have with this post turned quickly 180 degrees into a pot shot about how i need my own blog.

i guess i'll stick to saying cool stuff like 'ricer' and asking questions of 'how do i drive it in the rain'.

Of course, if it were a Camaro RS, he'd probably beat it handily ... unless his S2000 is also down two cylinders!
