Default Stock 02 s2k vs. 04 TL

So driving home nice summer night, top down. Chillin, pass a new TL, look over give the guy a smile since i really like the new ones. Stop at the next light and the guy starts revvin. I dont even look over light turns he "mini launches" (little tire chirp) I get on it right from the start. 1st gear half a car, 2nd gear 1 car, 3rd gear 2 cars, and then i stopped. He then sped off, i caught him only to give him the goofiest (hahaha you lost) smile I could. Made my rather uneventful night so much better.

Owned an '01 black/black S for 3 years. Traded in our RX300 for an 04' TL concurrently with my S for about 6 months before I had to sell her... Had a baby Although I couldn't drive both simultaneously, I can say that the TL felt nearly as quick.... I think above 100 the TL would pull the S slightly...

That is... I had the S for about 6 months along with the TL before I had to sell the S.

Doesnt the auto 04 TL have bad topend since their 4th and 5th gears are tall? or was that just the last gen TL type-S

I've been reading through many of these topics of late and it amazes me that very few people know what their talking about. How anyone could claim a tl could possibly even come close to an S is just pure stupidity.

Ive been reading some post on acura-cl.com and since the cl and tl are very similar in performance I figured it would be a very close comparison. Even if the cl had intake, exhaust, headers it couldnt even keep up with the stock s2k. From 0-60 it was closer but once they passed 60 the S2k just took off like nothing. FYI Iam referring to the last gen cl type-s and tl type-s. But from my experience there isnt that much power difference between a modded cl or tl type-s compared to the new 04 auto tl. My definition of modded would be intake, exhaust and headers since thats what alot of the cl and tl guys do. And also I used to own an 01 cl so iam well aware of what the cl is capable of.

Ironic how some seem to think an S2000 can keep up with a C5 vette or 03 Cobra but think it's similar in speed to an Acura TL.
