I had a chance to run another S2000 last Saturday on a rather steep uphill road. With almost a mile of open road in front of us we decided to punch off at 40 mph in 4th. Not exactly in the power band and this was a steep uphill. If it had been a race we would have been in second gear.
The set-ups: His, F22C with Vortech, AEM, 4.57s, etc 360+ hp to the rear wheels.
Mine F20C with Vortech, 4.44s, etc 440+ hp.
We were basically even at first with a small amount of change. He was at a higher rpm to start (4.57s and tranny differences) so the power curves were similar there. We were side by side until he ran out of poop at 90mph and mine was just taking off. I pulled a quick 4 car lengths between 90 and 110mph and at that point I was ready to bolt.
Good fun running uphill.
PS If you are going to race, get the engine in the power range.

Every time I need to shift he jumps 4 cars in that extra 1000 rpm. What can you say
But this situation is just a point in time.
