Thanksgiving bash (two down: One NSX and One Ferrari)
Wow, all I can say is that I this is the best thanksgiving ever!
On my way to the turkey dinner with my family, I was making a turn onto the main road that I take everyday to go to work and etc. Well, this NSX zooms by. So I say, why the heck not? As I slowly proceed to pull up next to this black beauty, I realize that its being driven by a young teenager??
However, his father was with him in the car.
So get this:, we're cruising side by side, and then we (the father, his kid, and I) look at eachother and smirk. I give him the signal, ....and revmatch to 3rd gear, and we are off. ......it was only a matter of seconds before I gained a good 5 + car lenghts until some guy in an eclipse decides to turn on the road. Lucky for US S2000 owners, we have good brakes, and I avoided a nasty crash. We pull up next to each other and the father says, "wow, that car is really fast!" I compliment him as well, but laughing to myself., and I go on my turkey day way.
Later, now you'll really like this ! On my way back from the delightful dinner, Im crusing back with my brother-in-law and take the same road back. After filling up at the gas station, we had to make a left on that main road that I'm talking about. Well, on the right side of the intersection, Jeremy (my bro-in-law) and I notice these bright bright headlights coming from that direction. Oh joy!, dude, if you were there, my addrenaline was totally at its peak. I was actually praying in my mind, that this Ferrari would come up and actually try toying with me, just to see how I would do.
Well, what ends up happening is this guy eventually catches up to us, and manages to pull up side-by-side at one of the stop signs.
He begins to roll and hesitate, as it becomes obvious as he speeds up and then slows down, .....I look over to Jeremy , and say.."should I?" ....he says, "yeah...LOL"
I then mash the pedal in first gear, ...the ferrari burns rubber, and my RPMS start climbing at an turbocharged pace towards 9000 RPMS. Now its just a matter of time, before the Ferrari ends up zooming by me. Well, my friends, that never happened. Jeremy and I kept looking behind us, as the speedometer was steadily climbing towards 120.
Next stop sign: He's more prepared this time...the ferrari that is. I rev up to 6 grand and roll into speed, as my wastegate fully opens once again. It was awesome, ....I could actually hear my car backfire as I shifted gears. 2nd gear, ......oh shit, 9000 RPMs again
, shift!.....3rd gear....then 4th. Ferrari does not pass us yet again.
But it was much closer to the passenger door then last time. We end the long stretch of the road and I give the thumbs up to the ferrari behind me.
I thought it might have been cool to chat with the guy, so I turn my signals on and he does as well.
The meeting: I park, he pulls up.
Ferrari Guy: "Geez, what cha got in that thang?"
Me: "Im sorry?"
Ferrari Guy: "That suckurrrs fast" What do you have under dere?"
Me: " Well (making a long explanation short) .........turbo"
....
.... small talk
Ferrari Guy: ..... " I have a paddle shifter that best shifts at 7000 RPM, but I only have 300 miles on the car"
Me: " Sweet. "
Ferrari Guy: " Yeah Im still getting used to this, I used to have a 575M but I just got this thang"
Thats pretty much it, ....after Jeremy and I wiped the drool off our shirts from looking at that italian stallion, we went back up the very same road that we experienced the unexperienceable. hehe. I know..corny.
WEll, hope you enjoyed that story, and yes its true. By the way, that car was a new 360 modena.

wow.. good kill!! u took out the 400hp italian stallion.. 360 modena is the ultimate car IMO and you beat one! haha awesome!! i wish your bro in law had a video camera on him.. damn.. my adrenline would be going crazy too.
Nice race!
Strange, the owner of the Ferrari used to have a 575M which probably is a paddle shift because 6spd I hear are rare with the 575's. Then he goes and trades in a paddle shift V12 for a 360 Modena?
You should shoot me an email sometime or attend one of our Tuesday/Thursday adventures
