Default TL-S vs S2k

My Friend actually thought his TL-S with an Exhaust could do something against my S2k stock (I'm an ex- TL-P owner). Well now he knows but he's still in a little denial. I smoked his ass by like four cars at a little less than a 1/4 mile, and was still pulling.Maybe he just can't loss well

Stock vs stock the S2k has the edge, but make sure you work the rpm off the line because that car will get you... IMO stock s2k vs modded TL-S comptech goodies will give you a good run also the new 6spd CL-S.. Anyways good kill...

The S should still win because of the auto. With the 6 speed, it would be close.

Yeah, although the average S2K driver will actually get behind off the line and would only catch up right at the end of the quarter (to the auto with headers).

The 6-spd, OTOH, well, I think its a driver's race if you put headers on it. We drove one that wasn't even broken in to a 14.5@96 in nasty hot and humid conditions. The corrected time was 14.2@98. That's bone stock on the OEM tires. Give me another 30 hp (which the header will do) and I'll bet that the CL-S would be neck and neck with the S2K. And the upside is the 6-spd is so easy to launch, even a newbie can get within a couple tenths of an optimum time.

We did a little side by side race with an S2K with Mugen header and JR filter too. The S2K didn't do a really hard launch, and it wasn't able to catch up till near the top of 3rd gear. With another 30 hp it might not have ever caught up. Makes sense too. The CL-S 6-spd is 3400 lbs and makes 220 hp to the wheels (probably more broken in). With the header call it 250. That's 25% more whp and about 25% more weight.

Excuse me, 30 hp increase to wheels from a header. Care to sell me one, cause thats the most outrageious claim i have heard to date. Mike

Doesn't matter if its outrageous, because its true. Comptech has sold a bunch of these headers because they work. On a 3.0 liter Accord they'll pick up 15-20. On a J32A2 (Type-S engine) they pick up 25-30. Scary, huh? The J-series motor is so underutilized in its current applications its sick. A 300 hp TL-S with just bolt ons (intake, header, exhaust and maybe an ECU tune) is not unrealistic. Watch your back on the street with these boys - a 6-spd is that quick.

Ok, maybe, just maybe at the crank. But do you understand how restricted a motor would have ot be by its exhuast manifold for a 30 hp at the wheels difference from just a header. Id like to see a dyno sheet. Oh, and as for being scared, ive already killed a automatic one 02' by an undetrimanble amount of car lengths. And i used to think 01' Camaro SS's are quick till i watched one slowly get further behind me in a highway type race. UNtil comptech is relaseing offical dyno sheets for just the header, i fial to believe its possible on a street legal, non-turbo car. Mike
