Default Toasted By Moded S4

My friend and I were driving in his 2001 yellow s2k and we see
a blue s4 pull up on the right. My friend was in fourth doing about 70 and downshifted into 3..welll that S4 pulled so hard that racing any further was not even worth it.He probably had the computer chip upgradeupgrades the boost to 18psi and an exhaust.0-60 4.8...watch out for them...Damn his turbo was screaming too..Very impressive...

My friend set up this one S4/NSX/Hatchback meet.

Well my friend in his NSX raced one of the S4s on a 70mph roll and lost bad. The S4 pulled away like no other. I was in the NSX.

Yeah that little confrontation really earned my thumbs up(as far as Audi's go)...not to mention putting a damper on our ride home...thinking "damn that S4 toasted our asses..we really need a nice SC or turbo system for our cars..TORQUE especially...
Z06....HMMMMM....NAHHH Too Shitty(interior) But gobs of torque and power,2k lauches...S2K is too nice..even tough no torque and 7500 rpms lauches, weak diff(so some say).I still would opt for the s2k overall..too many vettes anyway..lots of lay people
dont even know what an s2k is?In upsate NY "IS That a spaceship or something"?is the look everyone gave.S2K owners are car savy people. :-)

My '00 S4 was modified by Joe Hoppen Motorsport with their mtm stage 3 kit. 350hp and no waiting. The system works flawlessly and I continue to be very impressed. The only way to beat it is right off the line. Must take first gingerly or risk total meltdown because the huge amount of torque has no where to be released (all four tires are gripping, not spinning). But once I (shortshift) first and get into second....I'm gone.

Its a tremendous package and most BMW's don't even know what hit 'em.

I'd still take the new M3 over the S4 even though I almost bought the latter a few months ago.

it's funny......there is a guy from san diego that actually wanted to trade his carbon black 2001 M3 with two sets of 19" rims, exhaust, sway bars, and some other stuff on it for my S4...as you can see......i politely declined...

All this talk of chipping is making me ANTSY! I was hoping to hold out for a little longer but the tempation is....just.....too....GREAT!

I have yet to drive in a chipped S4 but constantly hear and read of the tremendous difference it makes. Hopefully I'll find out this Sunday at the meet here in Saugus.

Oh, and Mike I believe that 1 bar is actually 14.5PSI. Good enough still!

Hey SilverR2, hope to see ya at the Boston Audi Get Together on 8/26.

The difference between a chipped and non-chipped S4 is like night and day. At least a half second difference in the 1/4 mile!

It's like driving two different cars.

Take care,
DanC. aka S4MadMan
