Turbo Del Sol...
I try to only post the interesting races on here, this one is no exception; it's sorta long...but that's the way it was in real life.
This guy in a white Del Sol (with passanger) pulled up next to me on Westheimer (very popular main street in Houston), and kept gunning it - in traffic. I always hate this, because it just makes no sense...but everyone goes to Westheimer to look for races, and I was no exception.
Finally the road cleared, and we dropped and ran through 2nd gear, a little into 3rd. He got beat. (win #1) He pulled up next to me, and I asked where they were headed. "Wherever you're going", the driver said. "I'm going to check out Miami Subs, heard there were some people there.", I told him. The guy followed me down the street for a few miles. "You want some more?", he asked me after a few lights...as if he had something to give me; somewhat in a cocky way. "Not here...not on Westheimer.", I told him. The guy kept following, every once in a while he'd pull up next to me and drop - like he's bucking up to me. He was behind me at one point, and I let him catch up. "Let's go down the beltway...we can race there.", I said. He agreed.
So we turn on the beltway, I was in front, I slow for him. I wait for him to get even, then we gun it. He got dropped, again. (win #2) I let him catch up, and I did it again - he got dropped. (win # 3) We u-turned, and continued on our way down Westheimer to Miami Subs. He pulled up next to me again, I was just cruising...he starts rev'ing, again - "Come on, let's go", the guy says, sorta with a irritated look on his face. I drop, and beat him - again. (win #4) We stop at a light as we pass Miami Subs (didn't see any cars there of interest). "Alright, let's go.", the driver says. "Naw, I'm not launching, just spent too much money fixing my back-end.", I explained. So we rolled when the light turned green, and we floored it from about 20...he got dropped again. (win #5)
He pulls up next to me, "You keep getting the jump on me." I wasn't sure if he just meant that my car was getting the jump, or if he thought I was going early each time. The guy runs a yellow light, I stay back. I see him again about 2 miles down the road, he was in the left-hand turn lane, about to u-turn, but backed up and pulled up next to me at the light when he saw me coming.
At this point I realized that the guy really thinks he can beat me - and that he thinks I'm getting unfair starts each time. We start rolling at the light, I tell the guy, "I'll give you a head start...go." I wait for him to drop, I let him get a car length, then I drop. 2nd gear brings me up to his door. 3rd gear gets me 1/2 car length in front, then we both shut down as our radars were screamin'. (win #6) The guy u-turned soon after...poor guy.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again...except when it's street racing.

Man, idiots like that irritate the hell out of me.
My friend in his B16 gen 2 hatch with I/E/H thinks he can beat my/his friend with a '95 NSX E/H.
The b16 ran a 14.6, and he still thinks he can beat an NSX. He doesn't believe NSXs run 13s, same with his cocky ass friend. They probably think this cuz they've only lost a couple times, but they've also raced cars they KNEW they could beat. I call that being a pussy.
Both guys ran 14s in their hybrids.

Wes,
First of all, this guy obviously could not get a clue... so you had to spank him 6 times!!!!
BTW, I had not kept up lately but what is up with your car? Sounds like it is back on the street - but with a stock rearend? Or did you now modify the drivetrain?
Cheers,
