i know they can be faster.. this one just couldn't hang.. from a rolling start.. i was pulling on him in 1st.. ran it all the way to the top of 3rd.. hit the brakes.. when he caught up.. he said 'thats about right.. a carlength or so'
haha.. ok maybe it was that close.. i didn't see had my eyes on the road.. i just know i lost him by the end of 1st.

I traded in a 97 Eclipse Spyder GS-T for the stook. It probably was a turbo. The turbo has 210hp. It is listed as doing 7.0 from 0-60 although it seemed faster than the stook from 0-60. However once you get the stook in 3rd gear with VTEC kicking in, the stook should absolutely leave a turbo eclipse. The eclipse spyder was a good car with good power thanks to the turbo and was very reliable. I put 70,000miles on the car and only had to replace the tires and brakes. Nothing ever went wrong with it.
However it is not in the same class as the S2000. The s2000 is a fine machine engineered beautiful and is a true sports car. The eclipse was a sporty car that had good acceleration and was worry free. I do miss the glass window with the defroster though

well lets see the 98 gst i traded in for my s2k was running about 20 psi of boost and the fastest i got in the 1/4 with street tires was a 14.6 @ 96.060 so yea a stock s2k would KILL a turbo eclipse

BB AP1,
You didn't have a stock turbo and run 12's and he was probably on the stock turbo which can't even hold 20 PSI at the uppere RPM's. Also, an AWD model is alot easier to put in the 12's because you don't have the traction problems that you do with FWD models. I traded a 99 Eclipse GS-T that had a HRC 16G (ported and clipped), RC 550 injectors, Greddy Big FMIC, Greddy Profec A boost controller, 1G BOV, 3" Thermal turbo back exhaust, Apexi S-AFC and a few other things. It was a real pain getting in the 12's until I put the Quaiffe Differential in even on Drag Radials.
