turbo S vs. 5.0
I went to visit my buddy today. He is borrowing my S2000 while he repairs his, and said there has been a problem that I wanted to datalog.
We get on the highway, cruise around for about 15-20 minutes and no luck as the issue doesn't present itself
He is holding the laptop, and I am driving. On our way back to the house, cruising at ~63, a grabber blue mustang passes us. As he slowly makes his way past, I see that he has a paper plate. All my buddies know that I love nothing more than to race mustangs. Maybe it has something to do with the vortech scd/gutted GT that wouldn't ever line up with me.
Well this dude in his awesome machine wants to flex his new rides muscles, and I am happy to oblige.
He just takes off, while I am still in 6th, so I slowly catch up to him.
We get near him, I pulll up beside him, and we take off. I'm in 3rd, we're going about 60, we hit it, and he is no longer beside me, lol. After a 3rd gear pull he is at least 2-3 cars behind me. I let off the gas and he eventually catches back up.
We do another 3rd gear pull, and the result is the same. I kept waiting for him to go so that I didn't feel like I was getting the jump, but he wouldn't go until I started accelerating
Looking at the datalogs, I only hit ~13.3psi. My buddy said he beat a modded GT500 at this boost setting.
I miss driving the S
*DISCLAIMER: this is just a thought experiment on what could've happened*

Nice. Poor guy he probably thought he bought a fast car. I had the same experience the second day I had my 95 cobra. Thought I would punish an Iroc Z camaro. I was dumbfounded as he easily walked away. I quickly realized the mustang is a PIG. Took many thousands to make that car fast. It would turn a low 7 in the eighth when I sold it, but still handled like a dumptruck. Turbo S2K FTW.
