This one is pretty funny. As i left my house tonight i pulled out on to a two lane road and got about 1/4 mile down the road when i see a car come screaming up behind me, i wasn't sure if he was going to pass or what,all i could tell was that it was a small yellow sedan, i couldn't throw down on him because i only had two clicks of temp. So as he got close he ran up on my bumper and i decided that i would slow him down, so for about the next 1/2 mile he road me pretty hard and then, get this, he tried to pass me i couldn't believe it. So of course there was no getting around me especially when your diriving a Lancer. So we pull up to the stoplight and i get ready to turn left and when the light turns green i start to make my turn and he just sits there, so i wait for about 15 seconds then you hear him churp the tires as he takes off straight, so decided to go straight as well and show him how a real yellow car passes. Needless to say there was no real race other thatn the quick work i made of him!!

I think sometimes guys just mess with me to see if i will go on them. Thats the first lancer i've seen on the street around here.

 

In the new SCC mag they have the Lancer Evo VII (which I have no idea what the Evo VII means) running 0-60 in 5.1. I didn't read the article yet, just looked at the numbers, so I'm not sure if we'll be seeing this car on the U.S. streets or not. Obviously not what you ran into, just thought I'd throw this out.

 

Wes, Evo means Evolution and it is now on its 7th iteration (I think). Should be very fast as soon as it reaches the US shores. I have been anxious about this car too (among others). Watch the Jacky Chan move "Who Am I?". They featured a previous generation of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution there.

 

Evolution cars are absolutely savage. They will certainly eat our car up in a race. They are made specifically to compete in the World Rally Championship. The Lancer Evolution happens to have won 3 years in a row. Latez!

Let me reiterate. The Lancers we get over here are slooooow sedans. The OZ upgrade for the USDM Lancers only come with OZ rims. Untill the Evo comes out the regular Lancers are slower than your average rice rocket.

 

Hey jschmidt, no one passes or trys to pass the S2000 and gets away with it!!!!

 

The Lancers in the US are slow as hell. 120 HP. Trust me, my friend just got one. SLOW.

Now, the EVO is of course a different story but those aren't going to be over here for a LONG LONG time, if they ever are to come over here. The EVO VII is supposed to 0-60 in high 4s and do 12s. The car is SICK!!
