one of my buddies has a stock auto 86 GTA firebird. the other night we just took off from a light and i was in first, we both hit it and ran almost even to 85. I pulled a tad little bit, maybe half a car. Im guessing the thing was making almost 350whp and has monster tq so im not suprised he did so well. I have i/e/tp im kinda proud that i pulled on a muscle car

this is a GTA and it makes lots more power than that. and he thinks its stock and i think its an 86. either way i know i drove well and i know my cars not slow so his car must be making more power than that

That thing has to be underated as you say. I think it's a pretty heavy car.

When I said the stats were sad, I wasn't talking about your ability to keep up with / beat him. :-)

I was commenting on how low the advertised HP is for such huge displacement. Mustang went through a similar period.

 

I had an '87 GTA, 5.7L, advertised HP was 210HP.

 

^^ yea his is a 5.7l if its only at that kind of hp then i should have stomped him... it wasnt a 210 hp car though i can tell you that
