Default very fast civic

A few weeks ago coming back from the drag strip (in Oklahoma) I came up to this guy in a newer black Civic SI. My friend had talked to him at the gas station and suggested that I try and give him a run. So when we got up to a two lane road (with no traffic at all mind you) and tried to get him to go. I finally wore him down and we both took off...we were dead even all the way thru second and I got about a wheel on him every shift, thank goodness for our high redline. I saw him at the dragstrip the next weekend and asked what he had. Here it is: Jackson Racing Supercharger, CAI, headers, exhaust, MSD stuff, short shift, and some others that I can't think of.

Anyone know how fast the old 5.0 mustangs are? Every time I race one, I beat it pretty badly. I'm lucky I haven't come across a modified one, as they are easy to mod. Have I just been the victim of bad drivers?

Oh, yeah...I raced him at the drags and beat him by 9 thousandths of a second. I think my time was 14.5

I used to have a JRSC on my 94 GSR and it ran a 14.1@101 with a terrible 2.5 60 foot time. Think its hard launching our cars? Try a FWD car that puts 158ft/lbs of torque to the wheels on street tires.

I used to love picking on S2000's.

How much was the Civic Si pushing? boost? cuz he spent a lot of money to make the car slow. I have friends who do MUCh better than 14.5

Most of the JRC cars that I've seen aren't very impressive. They would be much better off looking for a used Greddy turbo kit or better yet... go with a custom turbo. Maybe a T70?

I raced a Turbo Civic SI from a dead stop, and got taken by a car. It as close but he pulled me in the end. Now that I have my Spoon Exhaust I'm looking for redemption.

I don't know how much boost he was running but I think he could have done much better if he had some slicks. I think he spun quite a bit.

I pay a lot of attention to displacement vs HP when watching new car commercials these days. It cracks me up. These big boss SUVs with 3+ liter engines putting out less HP than our car...crazy. Someone on our board has a signature that says "Displacement is no replacement for technology." Amen.
