I would personally just set vtec at 8000 and call it day.

lol I lowered mine with the vafc to 5200 and made 15whp across the middle. I had intake at the time.

Special thanks to Tony at T1R for the tune

Not bad OP. Shifts could use a little more crisp-ness, though. IMO.

Still fun to watch.

no i raised it. lowering hurts the power band.... it doesn't really matter if you lower your vtec unless you just want to hit it earlier in the street..... the rpms dont fall below 6700 rpms if you shift at redline so its not like you fall out of vtec. i definitely feel a better response when you delay vtec a few rpms. but im no dyno... and thanks guys...
top was down windows down and had a 200 lbs passenger...
Your wrong there. Raising vtec will hurt performance. It already was put too high by Honda so you can feel the vtec "hit"
Lowering to about 5600 or so is the perfect point usually. Depends on mods. With certain headers even lower is beneficial. Where you raised it to will certainly hinder performance.
Good run it looked like though.

vtec kick is for impressing the kiddos. All the lag, no turbo.

You do realize that the Hondata reflash (06+) is able to provide 20whp gains in the midrange by LOWERing vtec.

This is NOT a B series. Vtec kick may sound cool and feel cool, but in reality all it is doing is making your car slower. Making it take longer to reach the powerband. The high cam lobe doesn't magically provide more HP just because you tell it to wait. Have fun with that.

Hell if its really all about vtec kick then delay vtec till 7k, I bet it will really throw you in the seat then.
