Video: Modded SRT-4 VS S2K
so how do you like your s2k then? I heared dropping it at that rpm is not a decent thing to do with the s2k's driveline. Ive also read that CAI and exhaust dont really do much but maybe 5hp and the weight savings you get for some aftermarket exhausts? Im seriously looking to buy a s2k in a year or so, and i just joined this site. People always down the car but if it can keep up with a srt4 , which is a fast ass car, then it is no slouch at all..

Most people down the SRT4 (it IS, afterall, a Neon, right?) but if it can keep up with an S2000, which is a fast car, then it is no slouch at all.

well, up here, in the north east. THE s2k is know as the torqueless wonder, by all who refuse to do research. I cant count hte amount of people that laugh at me when I say i, gonna get a s2k sometime soon. Ive done my research and regardless its a fun nice car, thats rips on the track. The srt4 has gotten some of the same attention here. However i know 2 people that own them, and that attitude is slowly changing from a POS to a decent car. I alwasy get teh Hon Duh remarks and otehr retarded stuff. I guess upstate its all muscle heads
Unfortunately, ignorance surrounds us. The SRT4, for the price, gives an amazing amount of performance (and is easily and cheaply modified) - it deserves respect as such.
The S2000 is definitely stereotyped as having little torque - that said, when you take gearing into account, it's torque "at the wheels" is quite decent. Not like a V8, but decent nonetheless.

How do you not burn your clutch on those kinda starts?

I posted about a third of the way down - I was at a standstill trying to merge into fast moving traffic, I held the rpms at around 4k right as the last car (before a slight opening) passed and tried to let the clutch slip to get a "boost" as opposed to just normally engaging the clutch at a very low rpm. The car just wouldn't move as fast as it should have and a few seconds later, the car smelled like rotten fish. I guess from now on, I just have to engage mornally and just floor it in those kinda situations.
