on the way home from work, with the same ole traffic that i am everyday. one of those everyday cars is a 2002 Camaro SS M6(6SP). its a very nice car. looks stock, with exhaust, but with LS powered camaros are very hard to judge. one car could run 9's the other 12's/13's. so today we ended up front to back in the turn lane.

now im stock rite now, with the exception of my 70mm exhaust. light goes green, and we turn he hears me, im shifting a bit aggresive as i want to see just how bad hes going to KILL me.

we nail it from a 45 roll or so. now i have to say that this particular race, was just about as hard as ive ever driven my car on the street. i flat foot it into second, flat foot into 3rd, as he comes roaring by, putting 4-5 hell maybe 6 cars on me by 110. i was able to hold him off for all of second and a bit of third, but my god do those LS1's pull.

we stopped at the next light, he was a really nice guy, complimented the s2k, and said i hung in there better than most mustangs he races. made me feel a lil better!

im currently shopping for a 99-01 SS or a FRC so this kinda just fueled my lust for V8 power thats been rising lately.

 

With your numbers I am thinking he was modded. I ran a 02 TA that the owner claimed ran 13.4@105 and we were dead even.

thats what i was thinking. i know that a stock LS1 M6 is faster than a stock(or close to stock) s2k, but dayum 5+ cars in the span of two gears!?

im a on LS1tech now too, and from my lurking im guessing exhaust and tune, maybe LTs.

 

Very possible, but 5 cars on a car that traps 105...I dunno. Sounds like he has some SERIOUS mods. Maybe a mild cam or a light hit of the juice. An 02 GT traps around 100 and from 40-100 I only put about 4 cars on one. I probably trap 105ish. Since you trap 105 and he put 5+ on you I would hazard to say maybe a small cam or something. That would have him in the 110-115mph range.

 

im not at my 105-trapping glory any longer. im revamping my setup, which is greatly slowed, by my lust for a LS1's and cars that they come in.

im currently stock minus a 70mm single. my car has always been a hair stronger than usual, i trap on the high end of 101 stock, and 105 with BPU's. im re-baslining on the 13th, so i know where to go from here. i bet im in the 210rwhp range, and could kick out a 102-103 trap. Still no match for a mildly modded LSx.

its just a guess. i made 197 stock, so i figure that the 70mm might have me up around 210ish, we'll see, im hitting the dyno again on the 13th.
