No one has a weight on the sl63 amg (that I could find but one site estimated 4350) but the sl65 amg is 4500 (about 550 more than the CLK63) but the CLK63 has 500hp and the SL63 has 518hp, although Im sure its still way faster.

Moral of story....its a two ton boat.

Thats like the Turbo Desiel MB V6 i was reading about. 208hp with 400tq. It would push you into the seat with its Tq and would make you think its fast but in reality it only traps 90mph in the 1/4 and does a 15 flat.

Tq isnt always everything.

hp moves cars up top, torque down low...weight difference doesnt matter as much once rolling, esp. the higher the speed the more negligible, which is why i find this race a bit confusing.

the SL63 though heavier makes much more torque and esp. power and this run was from a pretty high speed roll. it's a game played in the SL's arena and the SL lost. I'm pretty sure the SL has gearing and coefficient of drag on its side too.

but again anything can happen on the streets.

As much as I'd like to believe this story, it just doesn't add up.

Except that the SL63 is an 11 sec. car that traps around 120mph and responds well to certain mods to make it even quicker.

I think the driver didn't either push it 100% or wasn't trying that hard. Seriously the SL63AMG is nasty fast up top. I know you think that car was being pushed but knowning and having driven some AMGs at the track...wow their are mosters from 50 and up.

the sl65 amg barely breaks 11's @120. Most magazines have it at low 12's. It has nearly 100 more hp than this car, plus the TT has more top end. The sl63 is a 115mph trap at best.

Guys the SL63 is slower than the SL600 and SL55. Less torque.

Based on Power to Weight and gearing. This could be legit.
