VTI vs SXI
i am sorry if this is only for s2ks but its the most sensible street encounters forum i have found.
i have been lurking for a while but any way heres what happened last night.
Now I don’t condone street racing but if the circumstances are ok no other traffic then am happy.
Now last night my mate Gary and I were heading up the road at 12.30am and pulled into the garage on our way home.
We had a talk and a quick fag and I said to him the road would be quiet(the road home is very wide and has a big straight about 3 miles long) and if he fancied it we could have a few runs for fun.
I drive a 97 P reg 1.6 Honda civic VTI 4 door salon totally stock and his car is a 1.6 Vauxhall astra sxi 3-door hatch v reg.
We exit the garage with me in front not really giving it the message as we have a few minutes until we reach our big strip to let rip.
Now b4 the big straight there is a big long right hand bend (75mph tops or your in the filed) and am just doing 70 in 5th gear (not the best) and as thought we would line up for a 30-40mph roll I wasn’t pushing it but my sneaky mate was gunning it and I see him coming up pretty fast so I drop from 5th to 3rd at 60 mph (v tec sweet) and I instantly stop the momentum he had and he is now right next to me sitting just past my back bumper and I went to 4th and 5th right up to 125mph and he was still there so we pull over and I want to go again. Lol
He said no prob as we are both doing what we like.

This time he waits till I am ready and 3 honks later we are off I am in 2nd gear revs just below 5500rpm and instantly as I floored it I gained about half a car on him and every change after that I just walked away not by miles but enough for him to want a VTI now.lol
The second time was only up to 115mph and I shut down.
Earlier in the day I got owned by an old RS turbo 1.6 turbo and its only 160 bhp and I thought I would atleast keep up but hey u win some u lose some.
All this was safe and there were no other cars on the road atall.
Don’t flame for street racing when u are in the kills thread cause this is what its all about.
and yes it is the same rs turbo that beet me the last time but he just got his CAR back from the garage and i thought what the hell. cant beet getting beet by and old f reg car eh.
